At Nintendo’s U.S. suggested prices, a bundle can be the better deal if you want its included game—and, where included, the 90-day online membership. The clearest choice depends on which game you want, whether you would use Nintendo Switch Online, and the live price and availability at the retailer. Nintendo’s current standalone system MSRP is $499.99, effective September 1, 2026; the $449.99 figure from the 2025 launch announcement is historical.
What each Nintendo Switch 2 bundle costs and includes
Nintendo’s U.S. suggested prices give a useful baseline for comparing bundles with separate purchases. They do not establish a retailer’s current price or stock.

| Option | Suggested price | What’s included | Nintendo’s stated savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch 2 system | $499.99 | System | Not applicable |
| Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle | $549.99 | System, full download of Mario Kart World, and a 3-month (90-day) Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership | $37.98 compared with buying the included items separately at suggested retail prices |
| Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle | $529.99 | System, full download of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and a 3-month (90-day) Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership | $27.98 compared with buying the included items separately at suggested retail prices |
| Nintendo Switch 2: Choose Your Game Bundle | $499.99 | System and a download code for one of three games: Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokémon Pokopia | Up to $29.99 compared with buying the system and selected game separately at suggested retail prices |
The Mario Kart World and Sports Resort bundles were announced in September 2026. Nintendo says the Sports Resort game and bundle launch October 22, 2026, so that offer is not necessarily available before that date. The Choose Your Game offer is limited-time, available through participating retailers while supplies last, and retailer offer dates vary.

When the bundle is the better value
You want the included game
If you would buy the bundle’s game anyway, Nintendo’s stated savings are a direct reference point: $37.98 for the Mario Kart World package and $27.98 for Sports Resort against the included items’ individual suggested prices. The Choose Your Game offer costs the same as the system alone at MSRP and includes one of three selected games; its advertised savings are up to $29.99, depending on the game. For that offer, Nintendo lists regular game prices of $79.99 for Mario Kart World and $69.99 each for Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Pokopia. Those are prices listed in Nintendo’s May 2026 announcement, not guarantees of current retailer prices.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
You would use the included online membership
The Mario Kart World and Sports Resort bundles include a 90-day Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership, and Nintendo’s savings figures count it. If you would use the membership, it adds value to the package. If you would not, the advertised savings overstate what the bundle is worth to you personally. Nintendo says Mario Kart World online features require a Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account.
The bundle price beats the live separate-purchase total
Use Nintendo’s MSRP comparison as a starting point, then compare the actual prices you can buy today. A retailer discount on the standalone system or game can narrow or erase a bundle’s MSRP advantage; a bundle discount can improve it. The official announcements establish suggested prices and offer terms, not which retailer is cheapest or has stock on the day you shop.

When buying separately makes more sense
- You want a different game. A bundle has little practical value if you would not choose its included game. The Choose Your Game offer is relevant only if one of its three game options suits you and you can still find the offer at a participating retailer.
- You do not value the included membership. For the Mario Kart World and Sports Resort packages, subtract the value you personally place on the 90 days of membership before deciding whether the bundle’s savings matter.
- You prefer a physical copy. Both of those bundles include full game downloads, while the Choose Your Game offer supplies a download code. Compare the format you actually want; do not assume a physical game costs the same as a digital one.
- A retailer’s separate-purchase prices are lower. Compare the system and game prices at the same retailer, in the formats you want, and include only membership access you would otherwise buy.
How to compare the options fairly
- Start with the current system price. Use the $499.99 U.S. system MSRP effective September 1, 2026, rather than the superseded $449.99 launch MSRP announced in April 2025.
- Match the offer to your intended game. For the limited-time Choose Your Game bundle, confirm that your preferred title is one of the three options and that a participating retailer still has the offer.
- Compare like formats. The Mario Kart World and Sports Resort bundles include downloads. Nintendo Support says that, beginning in May 2026, new Nintendo-published digital titles exclusive to Switch 2 have an MSRP different from their physical versions. Check the actual format and price instead of treating digital and physical prices as interchangeable. Nintendo’s bundle announcement and Nintendo Support’s Switch 2 game-pricing guidance provide the relevant details.
- Count membership only if it benefits you. The 90-day membership is part of the two game-specific bundle comparisons, but your personal savings depend on whether you would use it.
- Check the checkout details before buying. Verify the current price, stock, seller, format, and offer end date. Nintendo’s suggested prices are reference points, not a live retailer quote.
Bottom line by shopper
- Want Mario Kart World and online play? Compare the $549.99 bundle with the separate system, game, and membership prices available from your retailer.
- Want Donkey Kong Bananza or Pokémon Pokopia? The $499.99 Choose Your Game offer may be especially compelling at suggested prices, but it is limited-time and availability varies.
- Want Sports Resort? The $529.99 bundle includes the download and 90 days of membership; Nintendo lists its launch date as October 22, 2026.
- Want a different game, a physical copy, or no online membership? Price the system and preferred game separately, using the format and services you actually want.
