Neither Nimbus Screenshot nor FireShot is proven to capture every long or dynamic webpage more reliably. Both advertise full-page scrolling captures, but the available product information does not include a controlled reliability comparison. Choose FireShot if you need PDF-focused exports, batch capture, or a vendor-described local/offline workflow; consider Nimbus for annotation, listed collaboration sharing, or horizontal scrolling. Test the pages that matter to you before relying on either.
What matters when capturing a long webpage
A full-page screenshot must do more than save what is currently visible. Pages may load images only as you scroll, update while capture is underway, or contain nested areas that scroll independently. Both products advertise full-page or scrolling capture, but advertised features alone do not establish how either handles those cases on your browser and target pages.

- Capture scope: Can you capture the whole page, a selected region, or content beyond the visible viewport?
- Output: Do you need an image, a PDF, clickable links, or multi-page PDF controls?
- Next step: Do you need to edit or annotate the image, batch-capture pages, or share directly to a service?
- Handling: Does the workflow keep captures local, or send them to an account or sharing destination?
- Compatibility: Does the extension listing for your browser show current availability, permissions, and the features you need?

When FireShot is the better fit
FireShot is the stronger feature match if your work depends on PDF export, selection beyond the visible viewport, repeatable capture of multiple pages, or processing that the vendor describes as local and offline. Its product page lists full-page, visible-area, and selection capture, plus batch or all-open-tab workflows and several image formats. The Firefox listing adds PDF with clickable links and advanced options including multi-page PDFs with headers, footers, and watermarks.

When Nimbus Screenshot is the better fit
Nimbus is a plausible choice when you want to annotate captures and use the sharing destinations named in its Firefox listing: Nimbus Note, Slack, Google Drive, Google Classroom, and Dropbox, with those integrations listed under Premium. The same listing describes selected-region and browser-window capture as well as horizontal scrolling.
Confirm that the relevant integrations and feature tier are available in the browser and plan you use. The listing describes saving to Nimbus Note as account-backed; do not treat that as equivalent to a local-only workflow.

Test the difficult page before choosing
Because there is no controlled long-page reliability benchmark in the reviewed materials, make the decision with a representative page rather than assuming either extension will handle every site.
- Choose a page that resembles your real work, including any lazy-loaded images, dynamic updates, or nested scroll areas you encounter.
- Capture the full page in the browser and extension version you intend to use. Check the top, middle, and bottom for missing or repeated sections.
- For pages with content that appears on scroll, inspect whether it was loaded before capture. If not, scroll through the page first and try again.
- Open the exported file and check the details your workflow needs, such as legibility, links in a PDF, page breaks, or annotations.
- Repeat on the pages and browser profiles that matter before using captures as records or deliverables.
This is a practical check, not a substitute for a comparative benchmark. Results can depend on the page and browser.
Firefox listing dates and browser availability
The reviewed Mozilla Add-ons pages establish Firefox listings, not feature parity across browsers. The Nimbus Firefox listing showed version 15.6.9 and a last-update date of July 31, 2020; FireShot’s showed version 1.12.18 and a last-update date of June 5, 2023. Those are the dates and versions shown for the reviewed Firefox listings, not claims about current releases or other browsers.

Price and privacy considerations
At the time reflected by the reviewed vendor purchase page, FireShot Pro was listed at $39.95 per year or $99.95 for a one-time lifetime license. The yearly plan listed unlimited high-quality screenshots, advanced PDF export, editing and smart annotations on Windows, capture history, local/offline capture, batch/automated capture, and premium support. Prices and plan details can change, so check the vendor’s current purchase page before buying.
FireShot states, “100% local captures keep your work private and offline‑safe.” Treat that as the vendor’s statement, not an independently verified privacy conclusion. The Nimbus Firefox listing documents a requirement for an account to save to Nimbus Note, collection of OS and browser version information for statistics, and permission to access data for all websites. For sensitive pages, review the current permissions and avoid cloud sharing unless the destination is acceptable.

ScreenshotNeo: an alternative to browser extensions
If you would rather request a screenshot through an API than depend on a browser extension workflow, try ScreenshotNeo first. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; it also removes known consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Its billing policy charges only for clean shots, not bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, or cache hits, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status.
ScreenshotNeo also offers an MCP server for AI agents, including Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. For code and request options, see the ScreenshotNeo documentation. Its listed plans start with 1,000 shots per month free without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
One-call example
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Replace the URL with the page to capture and provide your API key. The service’s documented parameters include options for full-page capture and output format; consult the documentation for the exact settings needed for your page.
