The charge is not proof of guilt: the accusation remains unresolved, and the reports reviewed do not establish who transmitted HIV, when transmission occurred, or Cook’s intent.
Was MykelOnTheBeat arrested?
Yes. AllHipHop reported, citing court records, that Cook, 33, was booked into the Orleans Justice Center on September 18, 2026, on a charge described as intentional exposure to HIV. The outlet reported that he initially remained jailed without bond. Magistrate Commissioner Joyce Sallah later set bond at $250,000 and issued a protective order. AllHipHop said Cook posted bond and that the protective order remained in place among the reported restrictions. The report does not provide the order’s full terms. AllHipHop’s report.
What is BOG Vonnie’s account?
Bazile is identified in the reporting as the complainant and as rapper BOG Vonnie. She told AllHipHop that she met Cook through a music partnership that became intimate, describing their relationship this way: “We became friends, and we weren’t in a relationship, but we were casually hooking up, or hanging out, doing music.”
AllHipHop also reported that Bazile said she was diagnosed with HIV in March 2023 after experiencing symptoms. That is her reported account; it does not independently establish the diagnosis date, when or from whom HIV may have been acquired, or whether Cook caused a transmission.

Bazile said she spoke publicly because she hoped to prevent others from being affected. AllHipHop quoted her saying: “I have problems with breathing. The voice I am carrying now is the voice we produce, but I feel a change in myself. I came out because I wanted to break the chain, so nobody else will be affected like me.” Her description is an attributed personal statement, not medical guidance.
What has been reported about the case—and what remains unproven?
The reports distinguish between the arrest and charge, which they describe as procedural facts, and the underlying accusation, which has not been proven in court. AllHipHop says Bazile alleges Cook knowingly exposed her to HIV. A later secondary report by TRIIP says investigators alleged that Cook’s medical records showed an HIV diagnosis in 2019; that is an allegation as relayed by the outlet, not a verified medical record or a court finding. - Bazile’s reported diagnosis and account do not by themselves establish the source or timing of any transmission.
- Cook’s arrest and charge are not a finding of guilt. AllHipHop expressly cautions that the allegation remains unproven unless established in court.
Did he post bond, and has he entered a plea?
AllHipHop reported that Cook posted the $250,000 bond set by Magistrate Commissioner Joyce Sallah and that a protective order was issued. Pulse Nigeria reported on October 1, 2026, that Cook had not entered a public plea at that time. What does Louisiana law say about the charge?
AllHipHop summarized Louisiana law as prohibiting knowingly exposing another person to HIV without informed consent when the contact creates a serious risk of transmission. It reported a possible maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $5,000 fine; Pulse Nigeria also reported a possible maximum of 10 years. These are figures and legal descriptions from secondary reporting, not a review of the current statutory text. The charge’s precise legal elements and any applicable penalty should not be treated as established here without checking current law and court records.

What is known about the case’s status?
The reports reviewed describe the arrest, bond, protective order, and Pulse Nigeria’s October 1 account that no public plea had been entered as of that date. They do not establish a plea, verdict, or later disposition. Cook’s guilt or innocence remains for the legal process to determine.
