What should I do first?
- Follow the opening story and tutorials. They introduce controls and core systems while opening up more of the city and its activities.
- Pick up Exploration Guide missions. These provide structured discovery goals and map tasks as you explore.
- Talk to Chiz and unlock City Tycoon early. This adds a progression layer connected to city activities, unlocks, and rewards.
- Activate Werithemer Towers as you encounter them. They establish fast-travel points, making it easier to move around Hethereau without retracing long routes.
- Mix investigations with city-life activities. Anomalies can lead to combat or non-combat encounters. Storefronts, driving jobs, fishing, racing, and Mahjong offer other ways to spend time in the city.
This is a flexible starting route, not a permanent checklist. Events, rewards, and resource costs can change, so follow current in-game prompts rather than relying on old daily-task lists.

How does the Esper Cycle work?
Esper Cycle is a team-synergy mechanic driven by a combat gauge. Use character skills and attacks to build the gauge; when the cycle is ready, switch to a teammate whose attribute matches the prompt to trigger an Entry Attack and additional effects linked to team attributes.
For a first team, use the characters you actually have and check the in-game tutorial for the current prompts. A practical starting point is to field at least two characters that can participate in the same cycle, then learn when to switch instead of treating each character as an isolated damage dealer.

Exploration is part of progression, not just a way to travel between fights. Exploration Guide missions give specific discovery goals, while anomaly encounters and Anomaly Commissions offer structured reasons to investigate places across the city. Activate Werithemer Towers when convenient so later objectives are easier to reach.
City Tycoon complements these activities with progression tied to city life. Try storefronts, driving jobs, fishing, racing, or Mahjong if they appeal to you; you do not need to treat every activity as mandatory. What should I upgrade first?
Build a small working team before investing widely. A useful role balance is a main damage dealer, a support, and a character that helps the team survive, but the best choices depend on the roster available to you. Does progress carry between PC and mobile?
Perfect World’s official FAQ says progress syncs across Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android when you use the same PWG account. The four servers—Asia, America, Europe, and SEA—do not share progress. Different third-party login providers also create separate accounts, so keep track of the sign-in method you use.
