Google groups it with other Wi-Fi discovery and connection errors; the code does not identify one specific cause. Work through the checks below, then retry setup in the app.
Fix Nest Cam error C371 in order
- Quit the Nest app. Close it before checking the network.
- Confirm the home Wi-Fi has internet access. On a computer connected to that network, load a webpage. On a phone, Google’s suggested check is to turn on Airplane Mode, enable Wi-Fi while Airplane Mode remains on, and load a webpage. Turn Airplane Mode off after the check.
- Connect the setup phone to the selected Wi-Fi. Make sure the phone’s Wi-Fi is on and that it is connected to the same network you are selecting for the camera.
- Check the camera’s supported Wi-Fi bands. A camera that supports only 2.4 GHz cannot connect to a 5 GHz network. Check the specifications for your particular Nest Cam model rather than assuming every model has the same band support.
- Restart the camera.
- Open the app and try setup again.
These are the troubleshooting steps Google lists for this group of setup errors. They may resolve the connection problem, but C371 does not guarantee that any one step is the cause.

If C371 continues after these checks
Repeat the checks to verify that the phone and camera are being set up on the intended network and that the camera supports its band. If setup still fails, consult Google’s Nest camera and doorbell setup troubleshooting page for further support. The C371 guidance does not establish a single further cause or call for replacing the camera or buying networking equipment.
