Dart blasters: check the dart line
Dart blasters fire foam darts, but “dart” does not mean every dart fits every blaster. Hasbro’s 2026 catalog says Elite darts are compatible only with Elite dart blasters. Hasbro’s Ultra product descriptions likewise say Ultra blasters work only with Ultra darts. Match the ammunition to the named product line rather than assuming darts are interchangeable: Hasbro’s 2026 product listing and Hasbro’s Ultra One product information.

Examples: simple loading and motorized firing
Hasbro’s 2026 lookbook lists the Elite Freedom Frenzy 4-Pack as a front-loading set with 16 Elite foam darts and no batteries required; it recommends eyewear. Those are details of this particular set, not a specification for all dart blasters.

For a motorized example, Hasbro describes the Fortnite B-AR as using a removable 10-dart clip, with 10 Elite foam darts included, four C batteries required, and an age rating of 8+. Foam-ball blasters: verify the specific model
Foam-ball blasters are a category readers may encounter, but the cited official material does not establish current Hasbro model specifications, ammunition compatibility, or age recommendations for one. Foam-disc blasters: use the specified discs
Disc blasters launch foam discs rather than darts. Hasbro’s VORTEX LUMITRON instructions say to use only discs designed for that product and not to modify the discs or blaster. The instructions describe glow discs and a Firefly Tech clip, list four AA batteries and an age rating of 8+, and give a claimed distance of up to 60 feet. That distance is a manufacturer claim for this model, not a comparison with other blaster types. Check the product page for compatible discs and whether the model is available where you shop. Water blasters do not use foam ammunition. Their practical differences can come down to how water is loaded and how the blaster is pressurized.

Hasbro’s 2026 lookbook lists the Super Soaker Dunk-Fill Freedom with an instant dunk-fill tank holding 12.1 fluid ounces (358 milliliters). The catalog gives an approximate retail price of $9.99 and says it was expected at Walmart and other major retailers beginning in April 2026. Hose-fed fill and pressurization
The Super Soaker Power Drench uses a fill station that fills and pressurizes the blaster. Hasbro’s instructions say a hose is required but not included, and specify a minimum static water pressure of 27 psi; the product is listed for ages 8 and up.
