The Motorola Edge 50 is the larger option, while the Edge 50 Neo is designed for people who want a more compact phone. The Edge 50 has a 6.7-inch display and a 5,000mAh battery in Motorola’s India specifications; the Neo has a 6.4-inch display and a 4,310mAh battery in Motorola’s UK specifications. Their processors also differ, but those model names alone do not establish which phone is faster. The best choice depends first on the size you prefer and then on the price and configuration available in your market.

Which phone is better for size and everyday handling?
Choose the Edge 50 if you prefer a larger display. At 6.7 inches, its screen offers more physical viewing area than the Neo’s 6.4-inch display, though the larger size may be less comfortable for one-handed use. The Neo is the more plausible choice if you specifically want a compact phone: it is 9g lighter in the cited regional specifications, and Motorola positioned it for buyers seeking a smaller form factor. Hand comfort still depends on your grip and preferences.
Do the different processors mean one is faster?
The Edge 50 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition; the Edge 50 Neo uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300. These are different chipsets, but the specifications cited here do not provide comparable performance tests. Do not treat the processor names alone as proof that one phone will be faster in gaming, multitasking or daily use.

Does the Edge 50’s larger battery last longer?
Motorola lists a 5,000mAh battery for the Edge 50 on its India support page and 4,310mAh for the Neo on its UK support page. Battery capacity is not a runtime test: screen size, software, network conditions and workload affect how long a phone lasts. These regional figures do not establish which model lasts longer in comparable everyday use.
How do charging and durability compare?
Charging
Motorola lists 68W wired and 15W wireless charging for the Edge 50, and 68W wired capability and 15W wireless charging for the Neo. The company says compatible Motorola TurboPower 68W and 15W wireless chargers are sold separately. Check the contents of the exact regional SKU rather than assuming a charger is included.

Water and dust resistance
Both phones are marketed with an IP68 rating. Motorola says its testing was conducted under controlled laboratory conditions for up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. The company also warns that resistance can decrease with normal wear, the phones are not designed to work while submerged, and exposure outside the rating is not covered by warranty. IP68 is not a guarantee of waterproofness.
Military-standard testing
Motorola also reports Gorilla Glass and MIL-STD-810H testing for both models. Its announcement says the Edge 50 was tested against 16 procedures and cautions that testing does not guarantee future performance; damage from abuse like that in testing is not covered under Motorola’s standard warranty. Treat these as manufacturer testing claims, not a promise that either phone is damage-proof.

What are the prices, and what does the difference mean?
Price depends on market, configuration and date. Motorola announced European starting prices of €599 for the Edge 50 and €499 for the Edge 50 Neo in 2024. Those are launch prices for selected European markets, not verified current prices.
For India, Motorola’s storefront search result displayed the 8GB/256GB Edge 50 at ₹21,999 and the 8GB/256GB Edge 50 Neo at ₹20,999 when observed on 2026-10-07. This is a dated storefront snapshot, not a guaranteed checkout price or confirmation of current stock. Compare the exact configuration and live local price before deciding; do not use prices from one country to infer the difference in another.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Edge 50 if you want the larger 6.7-inch display and its cited regional configuration suits you.
- Choose the Edge 50 Neo if a 6.4-inch screen and the more compact form factor matter more to you.
- Compare local prices and exact SKUs before buying, especially because Motorola says specifications can vary by market.
The available specifications do not establish a real-world winner for performance, battery life or camera quality, and they do not provide a sufficiently specific comparative software-support commitment. If those factors are decisive, look for comparable tests and the update policy for the exact model and market rather than inferring an advantage from the names or capacities.
