For a sharper-looking game, first reduce or disable motion blur if movement looks smeared. Then compare the game’s TAA and DLSS options in the same scene, at your normal output resolution, both still and in motion. Motion blur, anti-aliasing, and upscaling do different jobs, so there is no single setting that makes every game look sharpest.
What each setting does
These options affect different parts of the image. Changing one may improve a particular problem without fixing the others.

| Setting | What it does | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Motion blur | Intentionally smears parts of the image during movement. | Whether camera pans or fast motion look less smeared when the effect is lowered or disabled. |
| TAA | Uses information accumulated from prior frames to smooth jagged edges and reduce flicker. | Fine-detail softness or ghosting around moving objects, alongside edge stability. |
| DLSS Super Resolution | Reconstructs a higher-resolution output from lower-resolution input and temporal information. NVIDIA describes it as using motion data and feedback from prior frames. | Detail retention, edge stability, ghosting, and the game’s displayed render and output resolutions. |
| DLAA | NVIDIA describes this as using the same Super Resolution technology at native resolution for anti-aliasing. | Whether its native-resolution anti-aliasing looks preferable to the game’s other options. |
DLSS is not simply a sharpening filter. Its image depends on the game’s implementation, selected mode, and resolution. NVIDIA’s descriptions explain how its technology is intended to work; they are not an independent image-quality ranking across games.

Should you turn motion blur off?
If moving objects or camera pans look smeared, lowering or disabling motion blur is the most direct first test. It removes an intentional effect; it does not fix TAA ghosting, inadequate render resolution, or a particular game’s upscaler implementation.

- 【EASY ON THE EYES】 Protect your eyes and enhance your comfort with Blue-Light Shift technology. This feature reduces harmful blue light emissions from your screen, helping to alleviate eye strain during long hours of use and promoting healthier viewing habits.
- 【WIDEN YOUR PERSPECTIVE】Our sleek minimal bezel design ensures undivided attention. The nearly bezel-free display seamlessly connects in a dual monitor arrangement, delivering an unobstructed view that lets you focus on more at once, completely distraction-free.
Some games offer more than an on/off switch, such as separate camera or object blur controls. Labels and options vary, so change the available blur setting that corresponds to the smearing you see and compare the same movement before and after.
Does TAA make games blurry?
It can soften fine detail, but that is not its only effect. Unity’s Universal Render Pipeline 15.0.4 documentation says TAA uses a color history buffer to smooth edges in motion and reduce flickering. It also warns that ghosting can occur in extreme situations, such as a fast-moving object against a contrasting surface. These are documented behaviors, not a guarantee that every game using TAA will look the same.

- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440) has 1.7 times the pixel density of Full HD for incredibly detailed pinsharp images
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadow for added depth - making every scene feel more vivid and realistic
- The 180Hz refresh rate minimizes lag for gameplay with ultra-smooth action. Plus, the 1ms response time helps capture your moves in real-time, allowing you to react fast for gaming precision
- AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
- Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort
Judge the trade-off in the game itself: TAA may make edges steadier and reduce shimmer while costing some crispness or leaving trails in difficult movement. If the game offers several anti-aliasing modes, compare them on both static detail and moving objects rather than judging a still screenshot alone.

Is DLSS sharper than native resolution?
There is no universal winner. DLSS Super Resolution reconstructs output from a lower-resolution render using temporal information; native rendering starts at the output resolution. Their relative appearance depends on the game’s pipeline, selected mode, output resolution, and scene. Compare the actual options available in your game rather than assuming that “native” or “DLSS” is automatically sharper.

- Smooth motion: 240Hz refresh rate and fast 0.5ms response time provide crisp visuals and fluid movement with less input lag.
- Seamless gaming: FreeSync Premium and HDMI VRR eliminate tearing for smooth, responsive PC and console gameplay.
- Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
- Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
- Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.
Epic’s Unreal Engine 5.8 temporal upscaler documentation explains that temporal upscalers use current and previous frames. It also notes that a lower screen percentage leaves the temporal upsample needing more texture information per rendered pixel to maintain output sharpness. This helps explain why render resolution and pipeline details matter, but it does not predict the result in every Unreal game.
If DLSS looks unexpectedly soft, some causes are implementation details rather than player-adjustable settings. NVIDIA’s Streamline integration guidance identifies mip bias, motion-vector accuracy, jitter, and the upscaler’s position in the rendering chain as factors that can affect image quality. A graphics menu may not expose controls for these.

Should you use DLAA or DLSS?
Choose based on the job you need done and the options in the game. DLAA is NVIDIA’s native-resolution AI anti-aliasing mode; DLSS Super Resolution is intended to reconstruct a higher-resolution output from a lower-resolution render. They are not interchangeable labels for the same resolution choice.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsCompare DLAA with the game’s other native-resolution anti-aliasing options if your priority is edge smoothing without lowering render resolution. Compare DLSS Super Resolution with native rendering if you want to assess its reconstructed image at your target output resolution. Check fine textures, edge shimmer, and moving objects, and consider the performance indication shown by the game rather than assuming a specific gain.

A controlled way to find the sharpest setting
- Pick a representative scene. Use a place with fine textures or thin edges, plus something that moves or a camera pan. Keep the scene and viewing conditions consistent.
- Hold other settings steady. Keep output resolution and the rest of the graphics settings unchanged while testing one option at a time.
- Test motion blur first. Compare the current setting with a lower level or off, focusing on the same camera movement or moving object.
- Compare the available anti-aliasing and upscaling modes. Test TAA, DLSS Super Resolution, DLAA, or other options only if the game provides them. Record the mode name and any render-resolution information the menu shows.
- Check still and moving images. In a stationary view, inspect fine-detail retention. During movement, check edge shimmer, flicker, and ghost trails as well as intentional motion smearing.
- Choose at your normal display distance. A difference that is visible close to a screen may not matter from where you usually play. Prefer the result that looks best to you while meeting your performance needs in that game.
NVIDIA’s Streamline guidance also recommends reducing motion-blur distance or magnitude when a developer enables DLSS Frame Generation. That is an integration recommendation for Frame Generation, not a universal player-side rule for DLSS Super Resolution.
What the evidence can—and cannot—tell you
Official documentation from NVIDIA, Unity, and Epic describes techniques and implementation considerations; it does not establish one cross-game sharpness ranking. Game settings, rendering pipelines, and supported modes differ. The most reliable answer for a particular title is a controlled comparison in that title’s own scenes.
