Mortal Shell II has eight main weapons, plus a separate set of sidearms. The main weapons range from quick dual blades and a thrusting spear to heavy weapons and a light/heavy transforming axe. Some sidearms add ranged attacks or effects such as confusion. There is no supported damage ranking: choose by attack style, tactical role and the abilities of the warrior you possess.
How weapons fit Mortal Shell II’s combat
The official PlayStation listing says stamina gauges are removed. The official game site describes combat as unrestricted by stamina and emphasizes breaking enemy posture to create critical strikes. That makes attack profile and utility more useful ways to compare weapons than an assumed stamina cost or an unsupported damage tier list.

Weapons can be combined with the abilities of the warriors, or Shells, that players possess. PlayStation describes those warriors as having innate strengths and mastered abilities, while a Windows Central review also notes mixing Shell and weapon choices. Treat a pairing as a build preference, not a proven best-in-slot combination.
All eight main weapons and where the guides place them
The eight-weapon roster below comes from the unofficial Mortal Shell II Player Companion; GameSpot’s weapon and sidearm locations guide independently names the main weapons. The descriptions are qualitative: the available sources do not provide a complete moveset or measured performance for every weapon.

Sidearms are separate from the eight main weapons
GameSpot counts sixteen melee weapons and sidearms together, not sixteen main weapons. Its guide groups the combined gear total as two pieces in the prologue, six in Fainweald and eight in Mammon. It names eight sidearms: Naylshotte, Forgotten Crossbow, Troubadour’s Lute, Salvaged Trebuchaxe, Ballistazooka, Triarch Repeater, Cursed Child and Caged Hystrix.

Pick an attack profile
For quick light-attack combinations, the Axe & Dagger is the clearest fit in the available descriptions. The Black Needle is described as a fast, thrust-focused spear. The Axatana offers two reported modes: twin blades on light attacks and an axe on heavy attacks. The Great Martyr’s Blade and Obsidian Hammer are identified as heavy weapons. These descriptions distinguish handling styles, not proven damage or speed rankings.

Consider whether a sidearm adds a different tool
The described sidearms do more than duplicate a melee weapon: Naylshotte fires a projectile spread, the Lute confuses enemies and the Trebuchaxe launches axes. The available descriptions do not establish enough detail to compare their range, damage, reliability or effectiveness against particular enemies.
Pair the weapon with a Shell as a preference
Since the game presents warriors with their own strengths and abilities, it is reasonable to try weapons alongside different Shells and see which combination suits your approach. The cited sources do not test or establish an optimal pairing.

Upgrading weapons
The official game site says weapons have extensive upgrade options. GameSpot places gear upgrades at the Tarforge in Marrow Keep and says upgrades use coins and smithing-stone-type materials. The sources do not establish a full cost list, upgrade cap or verified stat gains, so those details should not be assumed from a general upgrade description.

Is there a strongest weapon?
These sources do not establish an objectively strongest weapon. They include no controlled damage table, attack-timing measurements, DPS tests, win rates or usage figures. The eight-main-weapon count and GameSpot’s sixteen-piece combined total describe different categories, not competing counts. Use the reported styles and sidearm effects to make a practical choice rather than treating either count as a performance ranking.
