The ten items below are a practical checklist, not a ranked productivity study: the best fit depends on whether you build for Android, Apple platforms, Flutter, or Expo and React Native.
How to choose tools for your mobile workflow
Start with your target platform and framework, then match tools to the stages that consume your time. Android Developers describes an Android workflow that moves through setup, coding, building and running, iterative debugging, profiling and testing, and publishing. Its guide says, “For help to debug and optimize your app, test your app in Android Studio.” Android Developers’ Developer workflow basics (last updated April 12, 2023) explains those phases; exact IDE features can change.

- Platform and framework: Native Android, native Apple platforms, Flutter, and Expo or React Native do not use identical toolchains.
- Workflow stage: Identify whether the bottleneck is coding, builds, debugging, device coverage, CI, signing, or release.
- Execution location: Decide which work belongs on local emulators and devices and which can run on hosted test devices or managed CI workers.
- Coverage: Plan for virtual checks and, where appropriate, real devices across relevant operating systems, models, locales, and orientations.
- Automation and release: Choose triggers that match your team’s commit, pull-request, schedule, or manual workflows, and protect platform-specific signing credentials.
10 essential tools and categories
This list intentionally combines named products with tool categories. There is no single set of ten that suits every mobile team: Android Studio is central to Android development, while EAS Workflows is aimed at Expo and React Native projects.

For Android development, Android Studio brings together writing, building, running, debugging, profiling, and testing. Its documented workflow supports building a debuggable APK for an emulator or an Android-powered device. Use it as the working environment for the Android portion of your app rather than assuming it replaces platform-specific tools for other targets. Android Developers’ workflow guide outlines the stages.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
2. Xcode
For native iOS work, Xcode is the Apple-platform development and release environment to plan around. Apple-platform release steps remain distinct even when a project uses a cross-platform framework. Flutter’s delivery guidance also covers Apple release workflows, including Xcode Cloud. Flutter’s continuous-delivery guide describes that release context.
3. Flutter SDK and toolchain
Choose Flutter when it fits the team’s cross-platform approach; it is not a substitute for platform-specific release work. Flutter’s deployment guidance describes distribution signing and deployment lanes, so budget for the Apple- and Android-side steps that apply to your releases. See Flutter: Continuous delivery.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
4. Firebase mobile SDKs
Firebase offers official SDKs for Apple platforms, Android, and Flutter, among other supported platforms and frameworks. Select the SDK for your app’s platform and the backend capabilities it needs; the availability of an SDK alone does not determine whether Firebase is the right backend. The supported-platform list is maintained in Firebase’s documentation (last updated October 6, 2026).
5. Firebase Test Lab
Firebase Test Lab runs tests on Android and iOS devices, including real devices, using a configurable device matrix. Teams can access it through Android Studio, the Firebase console, the gcloud CLI, or CI systems. It provides hosted device testing without requiring every test phone to be owned and maintained locally. Check the current options in Firebase Test Lab documentation (last updated October 6, 2026).

6. An emulator or simulator
Virtual devices are useful for quick development checks and repeatable runs without connecting a physical phone for every iteration. Android Studio’s documented workflow includes emulator testing. Treat virtual testing as one layer of coverage, not proof that behavior is correct on every real device; use physical or cloud-hosted real-device tests when hardware differences matter. Android’s workflow guide covers emulator use, and Firebase Test Lab describes hosted device testing.
7. An optional physical Android test phone
A local Android phone can run and debug a debuggable build, which is useful for checking hardware-dependent behavior and hands-on interaction. It is optional rather than a prerequisite for every test workflow: Firebase Test Lab offers remote tests on real devices. Android Developers explains local-device runs in its guide to running apps on a hardware device.

8. Git and source control
Use version control to preserve change history and coordinate team work. It also underpins the documented CI and delivery paths: Flutter’s Xcode Cloud guidance, for example, requires a project initialized with Git and linked to a remote repository. See Flutter’s continuous-delivery guide.
9. CI/CD automation
For Expo and React Native projects, EAS Workflows can automate builds, updates, submissions, and tests on managed workers. Its documentation describes triggers from GitHub events and schedules, as well as manual workflow runs. This can reduce repetitive release work, but the documentation does not provide a comparable measured time-saving figure. Review current capabilities in Expo’s EAS Workflows introduction (reviewed October 7, 2026).

10. Signing and release automation
Signing and deployment are platform-specific parts of shipping an app, not a single cross-platform button. Flutter’s delivery guide describes distribution signing and Fastlane lanes for deployment. If release jobs run in CI, keep credentials in protected secrets rather than exposing them in source code or logs, and follow the current release requirements for each platform. See Flutter’s continuous-delivery guide.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to test across Android devices
- Run a quick local check: Build and run from Android Studio on an emulator or a connected Android phone. Android’s workflow guide describes both paths.
- Choose a device matrix: Select device and operating-system combinations relevant to your audience, then add locale or orientation variations when the app’s behavior depends on them.
- Run hosted coverage when needed: Submit tests to Firebase Test Lab on a configurable matrix that can include real Android devices. Test Lab also supports iOS testing and CI integration; see its official documentation.
- Bring failures back into the development loop: Reproduce and debug failures in your local environment where possible, then rerun the affected test coverage after a fix.
Build a toolchain around your project
A practical setup is the smallest connected set that covers your actual workflow: a platform-appropriate development environment, a way to run and debug, an appropriate mix of virtual and real-device tests, Git for project history, and automation where repeatable tasks justify it. Add signing and release automation as a deliberate platform-specific step. Do not treat a ten-item checklist as a requirement to adopt ten products.
