The MOBAPAD M12 Pro and Nintendo Joy-Con 2 are both designed for Nintendo Switch 2, but they take different approaches to controls and features. MOBAPAD publishes larger per-side dimensions and a higher weight; that may matter when judging fit, but specifications alone cannot show which controller feels more comfortable. If by “Nintendo Joy-Cons” you mean the original Switch generation, those also work with Switch 2 wirelessly—but they cannot attach to it.
Which controllers work with Switch 2?
MOBAPAD markets the M12 Pro as a Switch 2 split controller and says it supports the console’s wake functionality, C button, and mouse functionality. Those are manufacturer claims; MOBAPAD advises following the latest manual and firmware guidance for mouse-mode operation. MOBAPAD’s M12 Pro product page lists Bluetooth and wired connections, Bluetooth 5.3, and Android/iOS app support.

Nintendo describes Joy-Con 2 as for Switch 2 only. Do not confuse it with the original Nintendo Switch Joy-Con: Nintendo Support says the earlier controllers can be used with Switch 2 wirelessly, but cannot attach to the console, and their HOME button cannot wake Switch 2 from sleep. Nintendo’s compatibility guidance covers that earlier generation.
How do their controls and features compare?
| Feature | MOBAPAD M12 Pro | Nintendo Joy-Con 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Sticks | MOBAPAD lists TMR Glide joysticks. | Nintendo lists mouse controls for compatible games; the cited product page does not specify the stick technology. |
| Buttons | MOBAPAD lists mechanical Omron components for ABXY and the D-pad, TTC switches for L/R and ZL/ZR, and two customizable M1/M2 buttons. | Nintendo lists the C Button; the cited product page does not identify switch or button component types. |
| Motion and NFC | MOBAPAD lists nine-axis motion sensing and NFC. | Nintendo lists motion sensors and NFC on the right Joy-Con 2. |
| Vibration | MOBAPAD calls its system HD2.0 wide-frequency LRA vibration. | Nintendo lists HD rumble 2. |
| Other connections and support | MOBAPAD lists Bluetooth, wired connection, Bluetooth 5.3, and Android/iOS app support. | Nintendo’s cited Joy-Con 2 page lists console charging or charging via a separately sold Joy-Con 2 charging grip. |
The vibration names describe different systems; the available specifications do not establish that MOBAPAD’s HD2.0 is equivalent to Nintendo’s HD rumble 2. Nintendo says mouse controls work in compatible games, while MOBAPAD says the M12 Pro supports mouse functionality. Compatibility and operation can depend on the game, setup, and— for the M12 Pro—current manual and firmware guidance.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Hall Effect Anti-Drift】Dual Hall effect joysticks use magnetic sensing with no mechanical contact — zero stick drift, zero dead zones, no recalibration over the life of the controller. The 6-axis gyroscope adds tilt-based motion aiming for shooters and motion-controlled titles, giving you a second layer of precision beyond stick input alone.
- 【Silent Buttons, 20-Hour Battery】Membrane switches replace clicky contacts, keeping press noise low enough for late-night gaming in a dorm room, shared apartment, or next to someone sleeping. The 800 mAh battery runs up to 20 hours per charge — one charge covers a full weekend. Ergonomic contoured grips keep your hands comfortable through every hour of it.
- 【Wireless or Wired, Your Call】Connect wirelessly to Switch, PC, or phone for cable-free play, or plug in over USB-C when you want zero-delay input for competitive games. One controller works across Switch, Switch 2, Windows PC, and Steam Deck — no extra adapters needed.
- 【Retro Look, Fighting-Ready D-Pad】A classic two-tone gray shell with four-color ABXY buttons and customizable RGB lighting — clean enough for a desk setup, bold enough for a convention. The optimized D-pad delivers precise directional inputs and reliable combo execution for fighting games, retro platformers, and side-scrollers.
- 【Back Buttons, Macro, Turbo & APP】Two rear buttons and a dedicated M key map to any input — dodge, reload, or full macro sequences without lifting your thumbs. Turbo mode adds rapid-fire to any button. Adjustable dual vibration lets you dial rumble up or down per game. The free companion app controls it all: remap buttons, set stick dead zones, tune vibration, adjust turbo speed, and customize RGB — saved as per-game profiles.
Which is larger, and does that mean one is more comfortable?
| Published measurement | MOBAPAD M12 Pro | Nintendo Joy-Con 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensions per side | 58.72 × 116 × 47 mm (MOBAPAD) | Approximately 116 × 14.4 × 30.7 mm (Nintendo) |
| Weight per side | Approximately 100 g (MOBAPAD) | 66 g left; 67 g right (Nintendo) |
On the manufacturers’ published figures, the M12 Pro is heavier per side and has larger listed width and depth measurements. The manufacturers may use different measurement conventions, so the figures are not a controlled fit comparison. Hand size, grip preference, and play style can affect comfort; no independent hands-on comfort assessment is established here.
How long do the batteries last?
| Specification | MOBAPAD M12 Pro | Nintendo Joy-Con 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 800mAh lithium-ion (MOBAPAD) | 500mAh lithium-ion (Nintendo) |
| Published battery estimate | 18–20 hours, with vibration motors not operating (MOBAPAD) | Approximately 20 hours (Nintendo) |
| Charging | MOBAPAD lists 5V/500mA input. | Charges through the Switch 2 console or a separately sold Joy-Con 2 charging grip. |
These are manufacturers’ estimates, not results from a controlled side-by-side test. Nintendo says actual Joy-Con 2 battery life varies by usage conditions; MOBAPAD’s 18–20-hour estimate specifically assumes the vibration motors are not operating.

What do the M12 Pro price and bundles include?
At the time the MOBAPAD product page was checked for this comparison, it displayed the M12 Pro at $119.99 USD, with $129.99 USD crossed out, and marked it “Sold out.” The page also listed three options: the standard M12 Pro, an M12 Pro + MA21 Grip bundle, and an M12 Pro + MA21 Grip + H12 Carrying Case bundle. - Consider the M12 Pro if its listed M1/M2 buttons, mechanical ABXY and D-pad, TMR Glide sticks, or wired/Bluetooth options suit your priorities—and you are comfortable with its larger published per-side measurements and the current availability shown by MOBAPAD.
- Consider Joy-Con 2 if you want Nintendo’s Switch 2 controller features, including HD rumble 2 and mouse controls in compatible games, and prefer the lower published per-side weight.
- Keep the generation distinction clear: original Nintendo Switch Joy-Con are a separate, wireless-only option for Switch 2. They cannot attach to the console, and their HOME button cannot wake it from sleep.
Neither the published dimensions nor the feature lists establish which option feels better in hand. That choice depends on personal fit and preferences, not a verified comfort or performance test.
