There is no proven performance-per-dollar winner. The Minisforum AtomMan G1 Pro posts credible gaming results for a compact desktop, but the available tests do not compare it with a similarly priced gaming laptop under matching conditions. Compare current prices and equivalent game settings before deciding: a laptop includes its display and portability, while the G1 Pro is a stationary desktop that needs a monitor and peripherals.
What the G1 Pro offers for gaming
The AtomMan G1 Pro is a compact desktop, not a laptop. MINISFORUM’s November 26, 2025 launch announcement specifies an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX, a desktop-grade RTX 5060 rated at 145W, and a 350W internal power supply. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of gaming performance.

Tom’s Guide’s April 18, 2026 review lists its tested configuration as 32GB of DDR5 memory, a 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD, Windows 11, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5 Gigabit Ethernet. The review describes the system as aimed mainly at 1440p gaming, but its reported game results below are at 1080p.

|---|---|---|
| Metro Exodus | 51.45 fps | Tom’s Guide review result at 1080p. |
| Cyberpunk 2077 | 45.21 fps | Tom’s Guide review result at 1080p and native resolution; the review notes that DLSS/upscaling can raise performance, so results with it enabled are not directly comparable. |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | 90.66 fps | Tom’s Guide review result at 1080p. |
These are three results from one review, not a guarantee for other games or systems. Graphics presets, drivers, cooling, and whether upscaling or frame generation is enabled all affect comparisons. The listed results do not establish how the G1 Pro performs against a particular laptop.

Why the price comparison is unresolved
The available sources do not provide a same-price gaming laptop tested in the same games, at the same resolution and settings, with the same upscaling state. GPU names alone cannot settle the question: a laptop’s GPU implementation and power limits matter, and a desktop-grade RTX 5060 should not be treated as interchangeable with every laptop GPU carrying a similar name.
Price snapshots also vary. MINISFORUM’s official product page showed a 32GB RAM/1TB SSD configuration at $1,039.90 with an out-of-stock notice. Tom’s Guide listed $1,439 as its review price. A separate MINISFORUM Store gaming-PC listing showed $1,719 for the G1 Pro. These are dated listings that may reflect different stores, configurations, or offer states—not a normalized current price or three directly comparable offers.

Check the local SKU, stock, shipping, tax, and delivered price before buying. For a fair value calculation, include a monitor and any keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals you need with the desktop. A laptop’s screen and keyboard are built in, although you may still choose to add external accessories.

- Delivered cost: Compare the actual prices in the same region and at the same time. Include the desktop display and necessary peripherals rather than comparing the mini PC alone with a complete laptop.
- Like-for-like gaming: Match the game, resolution, graphics preset, and upscaling or frame-generation settings. Do not compare a native-resolution result with one produced using DLSS or another upscaler.
- GPU implementation: Check the specific GPU and its power configuration, especially for laptops. A product name by itself does not show the performance of the complete system.
- Use and setup: A laptop supplies a built-in screen, keyboard, battery, and mobility. The G1 Pro is better suited to a fixed desk where a compact desktop footprint and component access matter.
- Upgrades and practical trade-offs: Consider memory and storage expansion, GPU replacement options, noise, ports, warranty, and support—not just frame rate.
Where the G1 Pro fits—and where it falls short
Expansion in a compact desktop
Tom’s Guide reports that the G1 Pro supports up to 96GB of RAM, has two M.2 storage slots with up to 8TB total described, and allows the included GPU to be swapped. These are useful possibilities, but check the exact part, capacity, dimensions, and compatibility before buying upgrades.

- Intelligent Cooling Design & Energy Saving: The CPU and SSD are equipped with independent fans, while the memory and built-in power supply feature an efficient heat dissipation design. This setup ensures enhanced thermal management throughout the system. Even under high load conditions, it maintains a full-load noise level as low as 45dB and keeps maximum power consumption at 65W. Additionally, the built-in 135W power adapter minimizes stability issues and noise associated with external power adapter connections.
Noise, ports, and the rest of the setup
Tom’s Guide reports that the system can become loud during demanding games and has a relatively sparse port selection. Its compact, console-like footprint and internal power supply may suit a desk where space is limited, but buyers should check whether its connections meet their accessory needs.
PC Gamer’s April 13, 2026 review calls the 3.8-liter system a hybrid between a mid-range gaming laptop and an entry-level ITX desktop. That describes its form factor; it is not evidence from a matched laptop performance test.

How to make the value decision
- Choose a real pair of options. Identify the G1 Pro configuration and a gaming laptop you can actually buy in your region.
- Calculate complete costs. Use current delivered prices, adding a monitor and required peripherals to the G1 Pro and accounting for what the laptop includes.
- Find comparable gaming results. Look for the same games, resolution, graphics settings, and upscaling state on both systems. If those conditions differ, treat the figures as directional rather than a direct value comparison.
- Decide which trade-offs matter. Weigh mobility and an all-in-one setup against the desktop’s reported upgrade options, as well as noise, ports, warranty, and support.
Until a comparable laptop test and current local prices are available, choosing one as the universal performance-per-price winner would go beyond the evidence.
