If Minecraft Dungeons II is lagging during multiplayer on PS5, there is no verified game-specific fix established as of October 2, 2026. One PS5 player has reported recurring connection lag, frame drops and missed inputs, but that report does not show how widespread the issue is or prove that the network is to blame. Start by checking whether the symptoms happen in solo play too, then try the safe PS5 connection and update checks below.
What is known about PS5 multiplayer lag
Minecraft Dungeons II launched on September 29, 2026, including on PS5, according to Minecraft’s launch announcement. The PlayStation Store listing describes solo, couch co-op, online co-op and mixed play for one to four players. It says online play supports up to four players and requires PlayStation Plus; online play is optional.
In a Minecraft Feedback post dated October 2, 2026, one player described “Server lag with frame drops every 10 -15s missing inputs as well on PS5 Console.” A comment also uses the term “rubber banding.” These are individual player descriptions, not an official diagnosis, a measured frequency across players or proof of a server-side problem. Frame drops and missed inputs can also feel like lag, so first note exactly what happens and when.
Work out whether it is online-only
If practical, compare online multiplayer with solo play. Symptoms that appear only online make connection or service conditions worth checking first, but do not prove that the internet is the cause. If frame stutter or missed inputs also happen offline, do not assume that changing your network will fix them.

- Note whether the issue occurs in solo play, online multiplayer, or both.
- Record whether you see players rubber-band, the game stutter, or controller inputs fail to register.
- Check whether it happens in one session or repeats across sessions, and whether it affects one friend group or more than one.
- If you use Wi-Fi, compare with a wired connection if possible.
These comparisons help describe the symptoms; they are not a validated diagnostic test for this game.
Safe troubleshooting steps for PS5
- Check for a game update. Highlight Minecraft Dungeons II on the PS5 home screen, press the options button, and select Check for Update. PlayStation also says games can update automatically when started. See PlayStation’s instructions for checking game updates.
- Check PSN status and restart. Check PlayStation Network service status, then restart the PS5 and router. PlayStation’s PS5 connection guidance recommends restarting network equipment and says to wait at least five minutes before restarting the router.
- If you use Wi-Fi, test the signal. Try moving the console closer to the router and reducing obstructions. If available, test a wired Ethernet connection instead. PlayStation advises trying wired connectivity for certain connection errors; its connection troubleshooting guidance is general PS5 advice, not a confirmed fix for this game’s lag. The PS5 guide identifies a LAN cable as the wired connection method: PS5 Digital Edition Quick Start Guide.
- Retest and note the result. Compare the same kind of play before and after each change where practical. Write down the connection type, whether the problem is online-only, how often it occurs, and whether you see stutter, missed inputs or rubber-banding.
- Report persistent symptoms. Share those details through an appropriate game support or feedback channel. The available reports do not establish an official bug diagnosis or a game-specific remedy, so avoid disruptive steps such as a factory reset or router port changes unless official guidance or a relevant error code calls for them.
How to interpret a wired-connection test
A LAN cable is useful if you are on Wi-Fi and want to compare connection conditions. If it improves online play, that points to a possible difference in your connection setup, but it does not prove the game has a universal Wi-Fi problem. If frame drops or missed inputs continue offline or on a wired connection, the available evidence does not identify their cause. PlayStation’s suggestion to try wired connectivity is general network troubleshooting, not a Minecraft Dungeons II-specific fix.
