Does the iPad beta mean MightyText works with iPhone?
No. In a comparison article modified December 16, 2021, MightyText mentioned an iPad app in beta as a way to message from an iPad. That is a historical reference to a tablet client, not evidence that an iPhone can act as the host phone. It also does not confirm that the iPad app remains available today. MightyText’s comparison article is dated to that earlier product context.

These are separate questions: an Apple tablet might have been a client for an Android phone, while the published phone-side setup still requires Android. Check for a current App Store listing or confirmation from MightyText before relying on iPad availability.
How MightyText’s message path works
MightyText is not described as an independent messaging number hosted by an iPhone. The Android phone acts as the message-sending host, and its phone number is used for the texts. MightyText’s support page says the host phone must be on, connected to a cellular network, and have a working data connection. The page was modified December 15, 2021. If you specifically want MightyText, its published setup calls for an Android phone as the host. Do not treat the old iPad beta mention as confirmation of a current Apple-device option.
