CHOICE’s public model page also identifies it as reverse cycle and lists 3.4 kW cooling. The difference between 3.38 kW and 3.4 kW is consistent with different published labels or rounding; it is not evidence of conflicting test results. Midea’s product specifications and CHOICE’s public listing provide the published figures.

The two published dimension sets differ slightly. They may reflect rounding or measurement conventions; check the space you have against the unit and installation components rather than relying on a rounded listing alone. These specifications are attributed to Midea Australia and CHOICE.

How large a room can it cool?
Midea gives a standard cooling application area of 16–23 m². Treat this as a starting point for sizing, not a promise that every room in that range will reach a particular temperature. Room shape, layout and conditions can affect the result.
The owner’s manual recommends calculating floor area by multiplying room length by width. It also cautions that an undersized air conditioner may not cool adequately, while an oversized one may remove less humidity and leave a room feeling damp. What the heating and control features do
Reverse-cycle heating
The MPPD33H is listed as reverse cycle, with 2.81 kW heating capacity. That makes it an option for a room where you want both cooling and heating from one portable appliance. The published capacity does not establish how quickly or evenly it will heat a particular space.

Midea lists optional Wi-Fi control and i-Sense remote sensing. Its product copy says the unit “Adjusts cooling power based on where the remote is located.” This describes the manufacturer’s feature; it is not an independent assessment of temperature accuracy or comfort.

Standby power claim
Midea says its energy-saving standby function reduces standby consumption from 2 W to 0.5 W. This is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified measurement, and it does not establish the unit’s energy use while cooling or heating.
Installation: check the hose, window and drainage
The manual covers connecting the exhaust hose and adaptor, preparing an adjustable window slider, installing the unit at a window, drainage, cleaning, maintenance, storage and troubleshooting. It also describes a wall-installation option for some models; that does not establish that every MPPD33H package includes the parts or configuration needed for wall installation.

Before purchase, consult the model manual and confirm the actual kit and your installation requirements:
- Measure the window opening and compare it with the supplied slider and installation instructions.
- Confirm the exhaust hose and adaptor can be routed as required without assuming a generic accessory will fit.
- Check drainage instructions and whether your intended use requires a drain hose.
- If considering wall installation, verify that the option applies to your model and that the necessary parts are available.

How noisy and energy-efficient is it?
The public CHOICE page does not show its expert rating, cooling score, energy-efficiency score, fan noise on high, noise description, running costs or recommendation; those details are restricted to members. Without those results, it would be misleading to call the MPPD33H quiet or efficient, or to assign it a comparative performance score. Its standby-power figure is a separate manufacturer claim, not a substitute for operating-efficiency data.
