Microsoft offers an official 16 essential keyboard shortcuts PDF. It is a compact handout, not the complete catalog. For the fullest and most current reference, use Microsoft’s live Teams keyboard-shortcuts page, then save that page as a PDF.
Download Microsoft’s official Teams shortcuts PDF
The Microsoft PDF is free and useful as a desk-side quick reference. It covers 16 commonly used Windows and macOS shortcuts, including mute, camera, background effects, new chat, file attachment, emoji, Search, commands, navigation and opening the complete shortcut list.
Because it is intentionally brief, do not treat it as Microsoft’s complete or permanently current list. Teams adds and changes features, while the live Support page can be updated without replacing a downloaded file.

Why a Teams shortcut may not work
- Check the environment: identify Windows or Mac, desktop or browser, and work/school Teams or Teams Free.
- Restore focus to Teams: click the relevant Teams pane; meeting shortcuts may not work while the cursor is in the composer or an embedded app.
- Check your layout: under Settings and more (…) > Keyboard shortcuts, Teams can use Teams, Slack, Zoom or Combined layouts. Microsoft documents this feature here.
- Check keyboard and browser conflicts: screen readers, operating-system commands, browser shortcuts and non-US layouts can intercept a combination.
- Check app-bar order: Ctrl+1, Ctrl+Shift+1 or Command+1 opens the first app in your current app-bar sequence, not necessarily Chat or Activity.
- Use the in-app viewer: press Ctrl+Period or Command+Period to see the combinations recognized by your installation.
Slash commands are different
Entries such as /goto are slash commands typed into Teams’ command/search interface, not keyboard shortcuts. Microsoft describes them in its Teams commands guide.
