Some reports came from Germany and other European countries, but the available reports do not verify that the incident affected all users in the UK and Germany—or establish its full geographic scope. Administrators should check the tenant-visible Microsoft 365 Service health record for incident MO1505952 before treating reported details as confirmed.
What happened
A same-day discussion by IT administrators described problems with GSA, Entra sign-in, Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft services. Participants mentioned Germany, Austria, Denmark, France, and Belgium, while others described unaffected users or services. These varying reports indicate a developing connectivity issue, not a confirmed map of affected countries or users. The discussion also cites incident MO1505952, titled “Users may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services.”

A participant in that thread reproduced a statement attributed to Microsoft’s Service Health Center: “We’ve identified a configuration issue affecting how connection requests are processed within Global Secure Access (GSA) infrastructure, resulting in connectivity issues with Microsoft 365 services. We’re deploying a configuration change to remediate the issue and restore connectivity.” This is a participant’s report of Microsoft’s wording; the complete tenant-visible advisory was not available in the cited material, so the statement and its current status should be verified in the admin center.

Why a GSA issue can affect Microsoft 365
Microsoft’s Global Secure Access Microsoft traffic profile routes Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft service traffic through GSA infrastructure. Microsoft notes that disruption to this profile can have immediate effects on Teams, Exchange, and SharePoint. A connection-processing or routing problem can therefore appear to users as an inability to reach Microsoft 365 services, even when the symptoms vary among users or applications. Microsoft’s operations guide explains how to operate and troubleshoot the Microsoft traffic profile.

How administrators should verify the incident
Check the tenant’s service-health advisory
- In the Microsoft 365 admin center, open Health > Service health.
- Find the active advisory for MO1505952, if it appears, and review its affected services, stated user impact, latest update, status, and update feed.
- Use that tenant-visible record—not social posts—to establish Microsoft’s confirmed scope, timeline, and mitigation. If no relevant issue is listed, Microsoft says administrators can report an issue; administrators can also subscribe to incident email notifications.
Microsoft distinguishes a Service degradation, where a service may be slower, intermittently interrupted, or missing a feature, from a Service interruption, where access is significantly and consistently affected. Service restored means Microsoft has confirmed that corrective action resolved the underlying problem. These labels describe the service-health record; check its latest update rather than inferring recovery from a few successful user sign-ins. Microsoft’s service-health instructions explain where to find advisories and how to report an issue.
Correlate reports with GSA and Entra logs
Compare affected and unaffected users, locations, applications, and times. Review GSA traffic logs alongside Microsoft Entra sign-in logs to see whether failures align with traffic forwarding or sign-in attempts. Microsoft’s GSA operations guidance also points administrators to Conditional Access evaluations, recent policy changes, device compliance, traffic-forwarding rule changes, and whether expected Microsoft 365 endpoints remain included. This can help distinguish a broader service incident from a tenant configuration change or a narrower device or policy problem.

Should you disable Global Secure Access?
The cited administrator discussion includes one participant saying they told users to disable GSA, but that is not an incident-specific Microsoft recommendation. The available Microsoft operations guide does not establish disabling GSA as the approved mitigation for MO1505952. Do not make a broad change based only on a forum comment: follow your organization’s change controls and the mitigation in Microsoft’s verified tenant advisory. If considering a traffic-forwarding or policy change, assess its security and access consequences and document how to restore the prior configuration.
What is not yet confirmed
The available reports do not establish the official start time, current status, resolution time, complete list of affected services, or confirmed country-by-country impact. In particular, reports mentioning Germany and other parts of Europe do not by themselves prove that the UK and Germany were comprehensively affected or that the issue was limited to those countries. Treat the service-health record in your tenant as the authority for Microsoft’s confirmed incident details.
