What resolution and frame-rate options are described?
For consoles, the announcement describes a choice between “true 4K” at 60 frames per second and upscaled 4K at 120 frames per second. For PC, it lists 4K resolution and uncapped frame rates, as well as DLSS and Spatial Audio. These are announced specifications, not verified measurements: the source gives no tested hardware, performance conditions, or image-quality comparisons. The exact modes and compatibility details should be checked against the complete patch notes promised for each platform launch.
Which features differ by platform?
- PC: DLSS and Spatial Audio are named, alongside uncapped frame rates.
- PlayStation 5 Pro: PSSR is named for the Pro model; the announcement also lists DualSense Adaptive Triggers for PlayStation.
- Xbox Series X: TSR upscaling and anti-aliasing are specified for Series X, rather than stated across the whole Series family.
- Xbox: Spatial Audio, Impulse Triggers, Xbox Handheld and Xbox Play Anywhere support are named. The announcement does not explain any requirements or limitations for those features.
Because the complete technical notes are due at launch, the announcement alone does not establish detailed compatibility requirements or precisely how every feature will work.

What is confirmed, and what remains open?
The October 1, 2026 press release from 4A Games, reproduced by GamingTrend, is the basis for the dates, free-update statement and feature list above. The final patch notes are promised alongside each platform’s release, so detailed technical behavior and ownership conditions remain unspecified in that announcement. 4A Games also said the Metro series had passed 50 million sales worldwide; that is the company’s stated milestone, not an independently audited figure. Executive Producer Jon Bloch said: “Our community has supported us from the very beginning; every milestone we reach belongs to them as much as to us.”
