Battery and storage are two separate limits on Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses. Battery decides how long you can use them before a recharge. The 32 GB of onboard storage decides how much you can capture before you move files off. Meta publishes figures for both, but they differ by generation, and its public pages don’t list a full set of battery-saving settings or an exact “storage full” threshold. This guide covers what is documented and the safest way to handle photos and videos.
How long does the battery last on Ray-Ban Meta glasses?
It depends on the model. These are manufacturer estimates from Meta Store product listings (accessed 2026, undated). They aren’t independent tests, and Meta doesn’t tie them to a specific mix of recording, streaming or AI use.

Don’t carry one generation’s numbers over to another. The Gen 2 “over 8 hours” and Gen 1 “up to 4 hours” figures come from separate listings, with no shared test protocol that would make them directly comparable.
How can I make the battery last longer?
Meta’s official pages support only a few practical steps:

- Use the charging case as the main charger. The case is what provides the extended runtime. For Gen 2 Blayzer Optics, Meta cites up to 48 hours of additional use with a fully charged case. Keep the case charged, too.
- Match the case to your exact model. Meta says the Blayzer and Scriber Optics are not compatible with the current Ray-Ban Meta charging case. Check compatibility before buying a replacement.
- Have a USB-C cable ready. The Gen 2 listing says a cable isn’t included, so you may need your own to charge the case.
You’ll often see advice to turn off wake words, lower video resolution or disable automatic import. Meta’s official pages don’t confirm that any of these extends battery life, so treat them as untested. The same goes for Quest headset battery-saver directions, which are not documented for the glasses.
How much storage do Ray-Ban Meta glasses have?
Both the Gen 2 Blayzer Optics listing and the Gen 1 listing state 32 GB. For Gen 2, Meta describes this as 1,000+ photos or 100+ 30-second videos. Those are Meta’s illustrative counts, and real capacity depends on what you record. No exact threshold for when the glasses report “full” is documented, and neither is a per-file limit.

Do Ray-Ban Meta glasses automatically transfer photos to my phone?
Only under conditions. Meta states: “Everything you capture on your glasses stays on your glasses until you choose to move them onto your phone using the Meta AI app.” Ray-Ban’s FAQ adds that automatic import runs when the glasses are on and in their charging case. Bluetooth should be enabled, and the phone should be connected to a saved Wi-Fi network.
So the dependable routine is to put the glasses in the case, keep them powered on, and open the phone with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi active. Menu labels for the import setting vary by app version and phone platform, so check Meta’s current support pages for the exact path.

How do I clear storage on Ray-Ban Meta glasses?
Do it in this order, because deleting from the glasses before a successful copy can lose the capture permanently:
- Import your captures to the phone through the Meta AI app, either automatically or manually.
- Open the phone’s gallery and confirm that the photos and videos are there and play correctly.
- Back up anything important that you want to keep beyond the phone.
- Only then delete the captures from the glasses, using the Meta AI app’s media controls for your version.
Be careful with cloud sync. Meta’s system card says that deleting gallery media also deletes it from Meta’s cloud. Phone storage, cloud choices and the glasses’ 32 GB are separate, so a deletion in one place may not stay in that place.
