Megasis is a paid HTML news website template from Colorlib, released in September 2026 and built on Bootstrap 5. Colorlib positions it for news sites, magazines, newspapers, and general or niche portals. Its product page describes the layout and page inventory in detail, but it publishes no speed test, accessibility audit, browser test, or comparison with other templates. The claim that Megasis is the best option in its category therefore rests on marketing copy, not on measured evidence, so a buyer should judge it against their own requirements.
What Megasis is and who it is for
Megasis is a template, not a finished website. You receive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files built on Bootstrap 5, and you adapt them to your own content, hosting, and back end. Colorlib’s product page describes it this way: “Megasis is a top-notch Bootstrap 5 news website template that follows the latest web trends for amazing performance.” That sentence is Colorlib’s own description. It is not a finding from an independent reviewer, and no named person is quoted for it.

The template suits a team that wants a news-style front page and article structure in Bootstrap 5 and is comfortable editing that framework. It is less suited to a buyer who needs a ready-made content management system, a specific advertising or subscription integration, or a non-Bootstrap design system. The product page does not mention any of those integrations, so assume they are not included unless the demo shows them.

Colorlib’s Megasis product page lists the following inclusions. They are vendor claims; the page does not describe how each was tested.
#1 Best Overall
- Front pages and internal pages
- Floating navigation
- Social icons
- A login page and login form
- UI elements
- Google Maps integration
- A contact form
Read the list as a starting inventory. A news publisher will still need to confirm how article templates, category archives, search, and comment or newsletter features work in the live demo, because the page does not describe them.
Licence and access plans
The product page states the licence as CC BY 3.0. Under that Creative Commons licence, reuse is permitted when the original author is credited, so attribution terms should be read in the licence itself and followed in every deployment. Check the current licence wording at checkout before using the template for client work, resale, or any product built on it, because licence summaries can differ from the checkout text.
The page describes three access options. Each is associated with a different period of support and updates, but the consulted page does not state the exact durations or prices, and plan prices can change. The table below shows what to confirm for each option.
| Access option | What Colorlib’s page says | What to confirm before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Single | A paid access option; support and updates are tied to the plan | Number of sites allowed, length of updates and support, and whether renewal is required |
| Membership | A paid access option; support and updates are tied to the plan | Whether the membership covers multiple templates, renewal price, and what happens to downloads when it lapses |
| Lifetime | A paid access option; support and updates are tied to the plan | Exact duration of updates and support, what counts as an included update, and any limits on future versions |
Where the page itself does not state a value, the table shows “not stated” for the buyer to resolve at checkout rather than a guessed figure.

What is not established
The product page offers no numeric performance result, such as page speed scores, load times, or Core Web Vitals figures. It also gives no accessibility audit, no browser or device test matrix, no user study, and no sales or adoption figure. It contains no comparison with other Bootstrap 5 news templates. Its only dated fact is the release month, September 2026, which the page gives as the product’s release.
That does not mean the template is slow or inaccessible. It means those qualities are unverified by the source, so they should be tested by the buyer before a commitment.

How to evaluate Megasis before you buy
- Confirm the licence fits the project. Read the CC BY 3.0 terms and the checkout wording, and note whether the site is a client build, a resale product, or a site you own.
- Confirm the access plan. Note the duration of updates and support, and whether renewal is needed to keep receiving them.
- Open the live demo and check the pages you need: article page, category archive, search results, and the contact and login forms. Look for advertising slots, paywall or subscription blocks, and comment or newsletter areas, because the product page does not list them.
- Test the demo’s accessibility yourself. Run an audit such as Lighthouse in Chrome DevTools, then check keyboard navigation, focus visibility, and colour contrast on the navigation and article pages.
- Test speed on your own hosting. Use a tool such as Google PageSpeed Insights on the demo, and then again after you have installed your real images, scripts, and advertising code, since those usually change the result more than the template itself.
- Check the Bootstrap 5 skills on your team. Confirm that a developer can edit the grid, components, and JavaScript without fighting the template’s structure.
If the demo passes these checks and the licence and plan terms match your use, Megasis is a reasonable candidate for a Bootstrap 5 news site. If any check fails, a different template is the better choice.
Product details were checked on 7 October 2026 and may change; the Colorlib page is the reference for current licence and plan wording.
