To verify a certificate or application issued through Telangana MeeSeva, use the Government of Telangana MeeSeva portal. Enter the MeeSeva application number in Search for Certificate, or open Know Your Application Status and enter the transaction ID or application number. The result can show the request status and whether the certificate has been taken for printing.
Keep the receipt or certificate beside you while checking. The documented process is based on the application number and transaction ID; there is no established, universal lookup by name, Aadhaar number, QR code or an arbitrary certificate number across all MeeSeva services.

What MeeSeva certificate verification actually checks
MeeSeva verification is a portal lookup of a transaction recorded by Telangana’s citizen-services system. It can help you confirm that an application exists, see where it is in the workflow, and check whether the certificate print has been taken by an operator. It is not the same as an independent forensic check of every fact on a certificate.
The Telangana Government MeeSeva service is the public portal described here. Instructions for another state or for a different service using the name “MeeSeva” may not match this process. The portal supports English and Telugu navigation, and its labels can change as the interface is updated.

Choose the right lookup

Do not treat “approved,” “printed,” and “delivered” as interchangeable. Approval concerns the department’s decision, print status concerns the certificate-generation or printing step, and collection or delivery depends on the particular service.
How to check a MeeSeva certificate online
- Open the official Telangana MeeSeva public portal. Use the government portal rather than an unverified third-party page that asks for your application details.
- For a certificate lookup, select “Search for Certificate.” Enter the MeeSeva application number exactly as shown on your receipt or certificate.
- For progress information, select “Know Your Application Status.” Enter the transaction ID or application number accepted by the form.
- Submit the search and read every status field. Look for transaction details, request status and the separate print-status information.
- Save the result for follow-up. Record the application number, transaction ID, displayed status and date checked before contacting a center or department.
Use the number printed on the MeeSeva receipt first. Avoid guessing spaces, letters or leading zeroes; a single character error can make a valid transaction appear unavailable. If the portal offers a language switch, changing between English and Telugu can help you identify an equivalent label, but it does not change the underlying transaction.
What each status means
Pending or under processing
A pending request means the workflow has not reached its final outcome. The FAQ discusses applications being handled by a mandal and directs applicants to the application-status facility to see transaction details. A pending result does not, by itself, indicate a rejection or a technical failure.
There is no single processing-time promise for every certificate. The time depends on the service, the office handling it, document checks and whether an enquiry is required. Do not infer a deadline from another person’s application.

Approved
Approval indicates that the responsible officer has approved the request in the system. It does not necessarily mean that a physical copy is already ready for collection. Check the print-status field separately.
Rejected
A rejected result means the request was not approved in its current processing cycle. The public FAQ says an officer can reopen a certificate rejected by mistake or oversight and process it again. That is an officer workflow, not a button the applicant is documented as being able to use directly.
Contact the issuing office or MeeSeva service center with the transaction details and ask whether the case should be reopened, corrected or submitted as a fresh application. The correct route can differ by service; do not assume that one appeal process applies to every certificate.

The status page can indicate whether an operator has taken the certificate print. This answers a printing question, not necessarily a delivery question. Some services may provide an output through a kiosk, while others may use a different service-specific route. Confirm the collection or delivery method with the center handling your application.

No record found
First check that you used the correct lookup and entered the identifier exactly as printed. A certificate search expects the MeeSeva application number, while the status lookup documents a transaction ID or application number. If the number is correct and the record still does not appear, contact the MeeSeva center or issuing department and provide the receipt rather than creating a duplicate application immediately.
Why some applications take longer
Category A services
The FAQ describes category A services as those that can rely on an available digital database. These services may be handled through electronic verification of the relevant records, although the actual time still varies by service and office workload.
Category B services
Category B cases may require a field inspection or a detailed enquiry when an electronic database is not available. The applicant may need to provide supporting documents, and an officer must complete the additional review before approval and certificate generation.

What to do when the certificate contains an error
- Compare the online transaction details with your receipt and submitted documents. Identify whether the error is in the application data, the generated certificate or only the printed copy.
- Return to the issuing MeeSeva center or department. Take the receipt, certificate, identity documents and any evidence supporting the correction.
- Ask for the service-specific remedy. The officer may advise reopening, correction, cancellation and reapplication, or another route defined for that service.
- Check the status again after the office acts. Use the same transaction ID or application number unless the department creates a new application.
The published FAQ does not establish one citizen-operated correction form for all certificate types. A center should tell you whether the original transaction can be amended or whether a new application is required.
Can an approved certificate be revoked?
The MeeSeva FAQ describes revocation as cancellation and says an approving officer can revoke a certificate within 30 days of approval within that officer’s jurisdiction. However, another entry in the same FAQ says that a department-login revoke option is not currently available. Those statements conflict, and the FAQ has no visible publication date.
For that reason, treat revocation as a department-controlled matter rather than a guaranteed self-service action. If a certificate must be cancelled or you believe it was revoked incorrectly, contact the issuing department and ask which current procedure, authority and time limit apply to that service.
Finding the office or mandal handling the request
If you need to know where a request is pending, use Know Your Application Status with the transaction ID or application number. The FAQ points applicants to that facility for transaction information. The displayed record may identify the handling stage or office, but the exact fields can vary with the service and current portal design.

When contacting an office, give the transaction identifier, application date, service name and the status text shown on the portal. This is more useful than reporting only that “MeeSeva is delayed.”
Birth and death records use a separate status link
The MeeSeva portal separately links to a GHMC birth/death application-status service. Use that dedicated service for a GHMC birth or death record instead of assuming that the general certificate search covers every civil-registration record. The existence of a separate link means the workflow and identifier requirements may differ.
What the portal’s activity figures do—and do not—prove
The Government of Telangana MeeSeva portal displayed the following platform figures for September 2026:

These are activity and availability counts, not a certificate-authenticity guarantee, verification accuracy rate or promise that every lookup will work without error. The official pages do not publish an average verification time, an accuracy percentage or an independent performance study.
Troubleshooting checklist
- Wrong identifier: Try the application number in certificate search and the transaction ID or application number in application status, as applicable.
- Typing error: Re-enter every letter and digit from the receipt, including leading zeroes.
- Wrong service: Use the separate GHMC birth/death status link for those records.
- Status appears unchanged: Note the date and time checked, then ask the center whether a document, inspection or officer action is pending.
- Certificate approved but not available: Read the print-status field and confirm the service’s collection or delivery method.
- Rejected record: Ask the issuing office whether reopening, correction or a fresh application is appropriate.
- Portal page behaves unexpectedly: Recheck the official portal, try the other supported language, and avoid submitting a duplicate request until the center confirms that the original transaction cannot be found.
Keeping your verification record
Save a screenshot or printout showing the application number, transaction ID, request status and print status, along with the date checked. Store it with the original receipt. Do not post the full identifier publicly; share it only with the MeeSeva center or issuing department through an official channel.
The portal showed version 2.6.1 with a last-updated date of 04-04-2026, while the dashboard displayed September 2026 activity. Interface labels, service availability and operational rules can change, so use the current labels on the live Telangana portal and confirm uncertain department procedures directly.
