MediaTek Helio G81: Key Specs, Performance and Benchmark Scores

The Helio G81 pairs two Cortex-A75 cores with six Cortex-A55 cores and Mali-G52 MC2 graphics. See its official platform specifications and how to interpret phone-specific Geekbench and AnTuTu scores.

The MediaTek Helio G81 is a 64-bit, octa-core 4G smartphone processor built around two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, paired with Mali-G52 MC2 graphics. In a dated Geekbench 6.7.1 result, a Motorola Moto G05 scored 406 single-core and 1,360 multi-core; that is one phone’s result, not a guaranteed score for every Helio G81 handset.

What are the Helio G81’s specifications?

MediaTek’s specification table lists the following platform details:

Component MediaTek specification
CPU Eight cores: two Arm Cortex-A75 cores up to 2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores up to 1.7 GHz
GPU Arm Mali-G52 MC2, up to 820 MHz
Memory Up to 8 GB LPDDR4x at 1,800 MHz
Storage eMMC 5.1
Maximum display resolution 2,520 × 1,080
Cellular connectivity 4G, including LTE Cat-4 downlink
Other connectivity Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and FM radio
Video Encoding and playback up to 2K at 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps
Maximum camera ISP configurations 48 MP or dual 16 MP + 16 MP; other capture modes are listed by MediaTek

These are platform capabilities, not a promise that a phone will include the maximum memory, display resolution, camera configuration or every connectivity option. Phone makers choose the components and network bands for each model and regional version. MediaTek’s page also has a CPU-clock discrepancy: its introductory prose says the six A55 cores run up to 1.8 GHz, while its specification table says 1.7 GHz. The table lists 1.7 GHz.

MediaTek describes HyperEngine as dynamically managing CPU, GPU and memory in response to power, thermal and gameplay factors. That vendor description does not establish a particular game’s frame rate or how well a phone sustains performance over time. MediaTek Helio G81 specifications

What benchmark scores does the Helio G81 get?

Geekbench 6.7.1: Motorola Moto G05

A Geekbench Browser result uploaded on September 7, 2026, records 406 single-core and 1,360 multi-core for a Motorola Moto G05 running Geekbench 6.7.1 for Android AArch64. The record reports Android 15 and 7.54 GB of memory on that tested device. It identifies the processor string as MT6769V/CB. Motorola’s specifications call the Moto G05’s chip a Helio G81 Extreme and list the same core arrangement and GPU clock. The result describes that specific phone and run; it does not establish a score every G81 phone will reach. Geekbench Browser result · Motorola Moto G05 specifications

Third-party summary figures

NanoReview reports an AnTuTu 11 score of 358,608 and Geekbench 6 scores of 432 single-core and 1,416 multi-core for the Helio G81. These are the site’s summary figures, not official MediaTek benchmark results. NanoReview also shows device-specific submissions with different AnTuTu results, underscoring why a chip label alone cannot predict a particular handset’s score. NanoReview Helio G81 results

Keep benchmark names and versions attached to scores. AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 measure performance differently, and results from different generations of either benchmark should not be treated as directly equivalent. Phone configuration, software, temperature and run conditions can also affect results.

What do the scores mean for a phone?

Use a benchmark as one comparison point, not as a complete verdict on speed or value. For a useful comparison, check:

  • CPU: core types and clock speeds, including any stated variant.
  • Graphics: GPU model and clock, as well as the handset’s cooling and sustained behavior.
  • Memory and storage: the phone’s actual RAM and storage type, not only the platform maximum.
  • Test details: the benchmark suite and version, tested phone, operating system and result date where available.
  • Whole-phone factors: regional model, display, battery, software, support and price.

The G81 name does not settle whether a phone is a good buy: two devices using G81-branded chips can differ in memory, storage, display and other features. Confirm the exact regional SKU and configuration before comparing prices or benchmark results.

How do G81 phone variants differ?

Motorola Moto G05: Helio G81 Extreme

Motorola calls the Moto G05 processor “MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme.” Its official specifications list two A75 cores at 2.0 GHz, six A55 cores at 1.7 GHz and Mali-G52 MC2 graphics at 820 MHz. The Geekbench result above is tied to this named handset, which is why its score should not be presented as a universal G81 result. Motorola Moto G05 specifications

TECNO Spark 40: check the NFC version

TECNO’s official Spark 40 page lists a Helio G81 configuration, while specifying a G91 for the NFC version. The page also lists a 6.67-inch, 120 Hz display at 720 × 1,600 and multiple memory and storage configurations. Those are Spark 40 product details, not universal specifications of the Helio G81 platform. Check the precise version when shopping. TECNO Spark 40 specifications
