The latest file listed for it is release 1.1.2c, uploaded April 20, 2026, and the same release has a separate 1.21 server-files package. Install the client from the Mayview CurseForge project, use the matching server archive for multiplayer, and keep Java 21 (64-bit) and every player’s modpack files in sync.
Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
The project author describes Mayview as a cozy Cobblemon adventure that combines Pokémon collecting and battles with farming, cooking, decoration, transportation, an in-game economy and Create automation. A private server can be self-hosted, or you can use a managed Minecraft host that explicitly accepts custom NeoForge modpacks. No provider is officially endorsed by Cobblemon.

Mayview compatibility at a glance
| Item | Current listing | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Minecraft version | 1.21.1 | Clients and the server must use this Minecraft version. |
| Mod loader | NeoForge | Do not launch the pack with Fabric, Forge or a vanilla profile. |
| Latest Mayview release listed | 1.1.2c, uploaded April 20, 2026 | Check the project files page immediately before downloading; releases and bundled dependencies can change. |
| Dedicated server download | Matching 1.21 server-files package | Use this archive rather than copying only Cobblemon into a vanilla server. |
| Author’s memory guidance | 6–8 GB dedicated RAM | This is a general recommendation from the project listing, not a measured player-capacity guarantee. |
| CurseForge download counter | 180,791 in a 2026 page capture | Counters are volatile and should not be treated as a permanent total. |
What the Mayview pack adds
Mayview is built around the idea of everyday life with Pokémon rather than a short, linear challenge map. Cobblemon supplies the collecting, training and battling foundation; the surrounding mods make the world function more like a long-term settlement.
- World generation: enhanced terrain and exploration provide a setting for towns, routes and bases.
- Economy: a Daily Shop, Selling Bin and player shops support buying, selling and player-to-player commerce.
- Transportation: planes, trains and automobiles give travel a role beyond walking or flying Pokémon.
- Building and decoration: extensive decoration content is aimed at furnished homes, shops and community spaces.
- Farming and cooking: agriculture and food preparation add daily routines and resources outside battles.
- Create automation: Create-powered machinery lets players design production systems instead of crafting every item by hand.
Those systems also explain why Mayview should be treated as a complete modpack. A server assembled from a few individual mods will not reproduce its recipes, world generation, dependencies or configuration.

Before installing
Choose one release and keep it consistent
Open the Mayview project and files pages on CurseForge immediately before installation. Select the current file that targets Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge, then record the exact release number. Download the client profile and, if you are hosting, the server-files package for that same release. Mixing files from different Mayview versions is a common cause of missing-mod, registry and connection errors.
Prepare the launcher account
Cobblemon’s official guidance describes the Modrinth App and Prism Launcher as launchers that can install Cobblemon packs. Mayview’s authoritative distribution listing is its CurseForge project, so use a launcher profile that actually offers the Mayview release you selected rather than substituting a similarly named Cobblemon pack. Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns Minecraft Java Edition before launching.
Prepare the server computer
- Use a clean directory dedicated to this server. Avoid placing it inside another modpack’s folder.
- Install a Java 21 JDK and confirm that the runtime is 64-bit. NeoForge’s 1.21.1 documentation lists both as prerequisites.
- Reserve the project’s recommended 6–8 GB of dedicated memory if your machine can do so while still leaving enough memory for the operating system and other services. More memory alone does not guarantee a particular number of players.
- Have permission to create firewall rules and, for an Internet server, to change router port-forwarding settings.
- Decide where world backups will live before anyone starts building.
Install the Mayview client
1. Select the official Mayview file
- Open the Mayview project on CurseForge and go to its files/releases view.
- Choose the current Mayview release for Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. At the time of the listed release, that is 1.1.2c.
- Install that profile through the CurseForge-compatible launcher workflow. If you use another launcher, import only a package that explicitly identifies Mayview and the same Minecraft and loader versions.
2. Let the launcher finish the dependency installation
Allow the launcher to download the complete profile rather than manually dragging individual mods into a separate instance. Do not add a different Cobblemon build, another version of NeoForge or files from a different Mayview release. The pack’s recipes, world generation and integrations depend on the versions bundled together.
3. Launch once before joining a server
Start the profile from the launcher’s library and wait for the main menu. A first launch may take longer while configuration files and resource caches are created. If it closes with a missing-mod or wrong-loader message, return to the files page and reinstall the matching profile instead of trying random replacement jars.
4. Verify the in-game profile
From the title screen, confirm that the instance identifies itself as Mayview and that the Minecraft/NeoForge combination matches the release you selected. Create a temporary single-player world only for a quick loading test; do not use it as the production multiplayer world unless you have deliberately chosen that approach and made a backup.

5. Give every player the same build
Before inviting friends, send them the exact Mayview release name and Minecraft/NeoForge versions. A player on an older or newer pack can often reach the server list but will be rejected during the mod handshake, or may see missing registry entries after joining.
Set up a dedicated Mayview server
1. Download the matching server-files package
- On the Mayview files page, select the server-files download associated with the client release you recorded.
- Extract it into the clean server directory. Keep the archive’s loader, mods, configuration files and scripts together.
- Do not copy only the Cobblemon mod into a vanilla server. That omits Mayview’s other dependencies and cannot reproduce the intended pack.
2. Install and verify Java 21
Install a Java 21 JDK, not an obsolete Java release, and make sure the operating system is using a 64-bit JVM. Running java -version in the server machine’s terminal is a practical first check; the reported major version should be 21. If the command reports another installation, correct the system path or use the JDK executable explicitly before starting NeoForge.
3. Use the supplied installer or scripts
The server archive may include the files needed to start directly. Follow its included scripts and instructions first. If you must install NeoForge manually, run the NeoForge installer with the --installServer option in the server directory, then retain the generated files alongside the Mayview server files. Do not replace the archive’s loader with a version chosen merely because it is newer.
4. Start the server once
On Linux, macOS or another Unix-like system, start run.sh. On Windows, start run.bat. The first run normally stops after creating the EULA file and initial configuration. If a script is not executable on a Unix-like system, grant it execute permission or invoke it from a shell according to that operating system’s normal procedure.
5. Accept the Minecraft EULA
- Open the newly created
eula.txtin the server directory. - Read the Minecraft EULA and, only if you accept it, change the setting to
eula=true. - Save the file and start the same script again.
Changing the setting is a legal acceptance step, not a technical workaround. If the server stops immediately after the first start, check that the file was saved in the server directory and that the value is exactly eula=true.

- Play with up to four friends or brave the dungeons alone. Battle new-and-nasty mobs across action-packed, wildly varied levels, in a quest to defeat the evil Arch-Illager!
6. Wait for a complete startup
Keep the console open until the server reports that it is ready for connections. The first successful start can take longer while world data and mod configuration are created. Stop it from the console’s normal shutdown command rather than closing the window, especially after a new world has been generated.
7. Configure the network
For players on the same home network, use the host computer’s local address and the port configured in server.properties. For players outside that network, allow the Minecraft port through the host’s firewall and forward the same port from the router to the server computer. The default port is 25565; if you deliberately choose another port, document it in server.properties and in the address you give players. Opening a port exposes a service to the Internet, so restrict administrative access and apply normal operating-system security practices.
8. Test locally, then test remotely
- Join from the host or another computer on the same network using the local address.
- Confirm that Cobblemon content, Mayview blocks and the world load without registry or texture errors.
- Ask a friend on a different network to test the public address and configured port.
- If local play works but remote play fails, investigate the firewall, router forwarding and Internet-service restrictions before changing mod files.
How friends join your Mayview world
Every player needs the same Mayview release and loader version as the server. They should install the client profile, launch it once, select Multiplayer, and enter the server address supplied by the host. Players on the same network normally use the server computer’s private address; remote players use the public address and a non-default port only when the host has intentionally configured one.
A server can be running correctly while remaining unreachable from outside the home network. A blocked firewall rule, a router forwarding to the wrong computer, carrier-grade NAT or an incorrect port can produce that symptom. Test from a genuinely different network, such as a mobile connection, rather than assuming that a successful local test proves Internet access.
How much RAM does Mayview need?
The Mayview project listing recommends 6–8 GB of dedicated RAM for performance. That figure is guidance from the author, not a benchmark or a promise that a particular number of players will run smoothly. World-generation speed, view distance, automation activity, loaded chunks, other applications and the host machine’s CPU all affect the result.

Allocate memory to the server process without starving the operating system. If the machine also runs a desktop, backups or other services, leaving no headroom can cause swapping and make performance worse. Watch for symptoms rather than increasing memory blindly:
- Long pauses while new terrain generates can indicate CPU, storage or generation pressure, not only insufficient RAM.
- Repeated out-of-memory errors indicate that the allocation or the machine’s available memory is inadequate.
- Good memory usage with delayed block updates may point to CPU load, heavy automation or network latency.
Because no measured capacity table is published for Mayview, increase player count gradually and keep backups before testing large farms, transport networks or Create factories.

Cobblemon’s documentation states: Cobblemon does NOT have an official server.
You therefore choose between operating the server yourself and paying a managed provider. A managed service is optional convenience, not an official Cobblemon channel.
| Decision factor | Self-hosting | Managed hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront and recurring cost | Uses your own hardware and electricity; there is no hosting subscription, although upgrades and connectivity can cost money. | Requires a recurring subscription; compare the included memory, storage, backups and support rather than the headline price. |
| File and configuration control | Full control of Mayview files, server.properties, backups and Java settings. | Control depends on the provider’s panel and policies. Confirm that custom Mayview server files can be uploaded. |
| Technical work | You maintain Java, NeoForge, firewall rules, router forwarding, updates and recovery. | The provider may simplify starts, restarts and backups, but you still manage modpack compatibility and world updates. |
| Reliability and uptime | Depends on your machine, power, Internet connection and household maintenance. | Usually benefits from data-center connectivity, but uptime, backup frequency and support differ by provider. |
| Player capacity | Limited by your hardware and connection; Mayview publishes no guaranteed player count. | Limited by the plan’s resources and the provider’s modpack policy. Ask how many dedicated resources are actually assigned. |
| Network exposure | You must configure and secure the firewall and router. | The provider normally supplies the public endpoint, reducing home-network configuration. |
| Mayview compatibility | The listed server-files archive gives you direct control. | Verify support for Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, custom modpack/server-file uploads and backups before purchasing. |
Self-hosting is a sensible choice for a small group with a spare computer and someone willing to maintain it. Managed hosting is preferable when continuous availability, a simpler control panel or off-site infrastructure matters more than maximum control. In either case, keep an independent copy of the world; a provider’s backup feature should not be your only recovery plan.
Updating Mayview without breaking the world
- Read the release notes for the new Mayview file and identify changes to Minecraft, NeoForge or bundled mods.
- Stop the server cleanly and make a complete copy of the world, configuration directory and server files.
- Install the new client profile separately so players can test it without overwriting the working instance.
- Replace server files only with the matching release’s server-files package. Do not mix old configurations or individual jars unless the release instructions explicitly require it.
- Start the updated server and inspect the console for missing dependencies, registry warnings or world-conversion messages.
- Have at least one player test a copy of the world before opening the updated server to everyone.
- If the update fails, stop the server, restore the backup and return all players to the previous profile while you investigate.
Never update a live world first and create a backup afterward. A mod update can change blocks, entities, recipes or world-generation behavior in ways that are difficult to reverse.
Troubleshooting common failures
The launcher shows the wrong Minecraft or loader version
Remove the incorrect instance and reinstall the Mayview profile from the project listing. Check the profile’s Minecraft and NeoForge labels before launching. Adding a newer loader by hand can create a failure that looks like a missing mod.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe server exits before creating a world
Confirm Java 21 and a 64-bit JVM, then start the supplied script from the server directory. Check that the EULA setting was accepted and that the archive was fully extracted. If you manually installed NeoForge, verify that the installer was run with --installServer and that its generated files are in the same directory as the Mayview files.
A player receives a mod-list or registry mismatch
Compare the player’s exact Mayview release, Minecraft version and NeoForge version with the server. Reinstall the client profile instead of copying individual mods. A server update also requires every player to update before reconnecting.
The server works locally but friends cannot connect
Check the host firewall, router forwarding and the port in server.properties. The default is 25565 unless you changed it. Verify that the forwarding rule targets the server computer’s current local address, then test from another network. Some Internet connections do not permit inbound connections; in that case, a managed host or a different network arrangement may be necessary.
Players report lag during exploration or automation
Keep the server’s recommended memory allocation available, reduce simultaneous heavy activity, and check CPU and storage usage. Large Create systems, many loaded chunks and fresh terrain generation can stress resources independently of RAM. Add players gradually and monitor the server rather than assuming that more memory alone will solve every delay.
