Mass Effect 2 has no single universal cheat-code list at the center of its unlock system: the most useful cheats-and-secrets guide is a map of squadmate loyalty missions, the bonus power they can unlock for Shepard, and a few community-reported glitches whose reliability is uncertain. The power mappings and glitch instructions below come from user-contributed GameFAQs entries, not EA verification; check your platform and edition before relying on them.
How loyalty powers and bonus training work
Complete a squadmate’s loyalty mission to unlock the power associated with that character, according to the GameFAQs user-contributed list. The same list associates a completed loyalty mission with an alternate outfit color. These are reported unlocks, not an official EA unlock table.

To give Shepard one of these powers, the GameFAQs entry directs players to Advanced Training at the research terminal in Mordin’s lab. It says choosing another power later replaces the previous bonus power and transfers skill points invested in it. The entry also says bonus powers earned in an earlier playthrough can be selected at character creation or from a research terminal.

These bonus unlocks sit alongside ordinary progression, rather than replacing it. EA’s PC manual explains that Mass Effect 2 has six base classes; some powers, weapons, and ammunition are class-specific, while other powers require power points to unlock. The Xbox 360 manual describes the same broad system using “squad points” and explains that research projects, resources, and upgrades are handled through the Normandy lab’s research computer. EA’s PC manual and Xbox 360 manual document those normal mechanics.

Which unlocks require DLC?
The community listing ties Stasis to Lair of the Shadow Broker. Kasumi’s loyalty mission is part of Kasumi: Stolen Memory. EA’s page for that 2010 Xbox 360 release says the DLC adds Kasumi, a mission, weapon, research upgrade, casual outfit, and achievement, and that the story mission earns her loyalty. Content and availability can differ in present-day bundles or editions, so check the specific version you own. EA’s Kasumi: Stolen Memory page gives the release-era details.

Community-reported secrets and glitches
GameFAQs lists the following techniques as user-submitted glitches. EA has not verified them, and their reproducibility across patches and editions is not established. Follow the platform label attached to each entry; these are not dependable universal codes.
Rank #3
- Battle as Commander Shepard on many worlds across the galaxy as you unite the ultimate force to take back the Earth before it's too late
- Enormous enemies and take on a smarter type of foe that will consistently challenge your best combat tactics and put you on the edge of your seat
- Customize your Commander Shepard, your squad and weapons to engage the enemy on your terms
- Allows the option to import decisions from both of the previous games and supports optional use of the Kinect Sensor for Xbox 360
- Experience a new emphasis on melee combat, movement and an improved cover system
Infinite heavy-weapon ammo refills
- Use a heavy weapon.
- At a weapons locker, swap to another weapon and exit the locker.
- Open the locker again and swap back to the heavy weapon.
The GameFAQs listing says this can be attempted aboard the Normandy or during a mission where a weapons locker is available. It is a reported glitch, not a confirmed feature.
Unlimited squad points (PS3-labeled entry)
The listing labels this technique for PS3 and describes using Dominate, Retrain Powers, and Advanced Combat Research. It gives a cost of 7,500 element zero per use. The platform label matters: do not assume this works on Xbox 360, PC, Xbox One, or a remastered edition, and note that the technique has not been independently verified here.
Rank #4
- Improved NPC conversation system where Commander Shepard can take matters into your own hands – interrupting or using force to get the answer required.
- The second act of BioWare's epic sci-fi RPG trilogy continues the story of Commander Shepard and humanity's first steps onto the galactic stage.
- Integration with the original Mass Effect game allows players to import saved files and contiue play with those files in Mass Effect 2.
- Choose from 19 different weapons, including devastating heavy weapons that can end a battle in seconds.
- New location based damage system allows for targeting of key weak points, blasting off limbs, igniting enemies, or cripple and disable enemy troops.
New Game+
GameFAQs says that after clearing the Suicide Mission, starting a new game with an imported Mass Effect 2 save carries over level, class, skills, weapon training, and equipment, while upgrades and squad loyalty do not. This carryover description is user-contributed rather than official documentation.

EA’s game page lists PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The detailed GameFAQs cheat listing is specifically labeled Xbox 360, while its squad-points glitch is explicitly labeled PS3. Those labels do not establish compatibility with other platforms, patches, or remastered editions. Confirm that a technique matches the exact version you are playing. EA’s Mass Effect 2 page lists the platforms.
