The game’s documented team mechanic is an in-match way to bring your other fighters into action: you start with two selected characters, then add teammates after a qualifying break or a lost round. For practice, Training Mode provides input, frame-data and damage displays, configurable scenarios and bots, and record-and-replay tools.
How do I unlock the rest of my team?
Team assembly happens during a match; it is not a permanent character unlock. In this 4v4 fighter, you begin with the first two characters in your selected team. The remaining fighters become available after you trigger a qualifying break or lose a round, according to the official game FAQ.

A break can result from certain attacks or throws, selected Skill attacks, or a successful light-route Link Attack near the edge of the screen. Depending on the situation, it can lead to a stage transition or wall splat. The FAQ does not provide a complete move-by-move list of which attacks qualify, so check the in-game Battle Guides and practice interactions rather than assuming every hit will trigger one.
Is there a Training Mode?
Yes. Training Mode includes command-input, frame-data and damage displays, scenario presets, bot settings, and the ability to record and replay a bot. These tools let you check what a move does and rehearse responses without relying on a live match.
#1 Best Overall

- Experiment with team compositions to discover new combos, synergies, and strategies. Blast your way through dynamic stages based on iconic Marvel Universe locales, some featuring interactive stage transitions.
- Fighting is both immersive and intuitive, with a range of unique move sets, combos, and strategies to master. Adjustable controls, both traditional and quick inputs, plus easy chain combos make diving right in a breeze.

A practical way to start
- Choose one character and use the command display to learn the inputs for a small set of useful moves.
- Use a scenario preset or configure the bot to practise against a specific situation.
- Record and replay the bot when you need a repeatable sequence to respond to.
- Once the individual inputs feel familiar, practise the team interactions that bring in additional fighters.
This progression is a practice suggestion based on the documented tools, not a claim about a required route or a guaranteed way to win. CPU difficulty can be changed through the Options menu, mode prompts, or player settings when selecting CPU characters, as described in the FAQ. PlayStation’s PS5 product listing also documents control and tutorial reminders, adjustable basic difficulty, and pausing during offline gameplay or cinematics.
Can I play offline?
Yes. The FAQ lists Episode Mode, local Versus, Training Mode, All-Star Arena, Battle Guides, Character Guides, and Arcadia Rumble as offline content. Arcadia Rumble is described as fully playable offline, with optional online features.

- It’s time to build your dream team and break some spirits in blistering 4v4 fighting action.
Online Lobby, Room Matches, Ranked Matches, Casual Matches, profiles, and other online features need an internet connection and an account. Online play on PS5 also requires PlayStation Plus. The PC FAQ specifies an internet connection and a PlayStation account for online features. The product listing says pausing is available during offline gameplay or cinematics; it does not make that claim for online matches.

This is the launch roster, not a guarantee of the current total. Additional characters are part of the announced Year 1 Character and Stage Pass; check the current game listing and dated official updates for what has actually been released. The FAQ confirms the first four additional DLC characters and one additional stage are included in that pass, but that fact alone does not establish their release status or a particular unlock method.
Are there permanent unlockables or cheat codes?
The official FAQ and PlayStation product listing document modes, the launch roster, training features, and edition content, but they do not establish a cheat-code list or a complete set of permanent unlocks. Do not treat the in-match team-assembly mechanic as a permanent unlock, or assume a costume or character is earned through a particular activity without confirmation in a current official game description or dated patch note.

Some edition content is tied to purchase rather than an in-game challenge. The FAQ says the pose set for the base 20 characters is accessible upon purchase, and that owners of the physical PS5 Standard Edition can buy a Digital Deluxe or Ultimate upgrade through PlayStation Store. Those statements do not identify an activity-based unlock path.
