Restart the client after checking
- Exit Marvel Rivals completely rather than leaving it suspended or running in the background.
- Check the game’s platform library or launcher for an update and let any download or installation finish.
- Launch the game again and see whether the mismatch message remains.
Marvel Rivals’ official FAQ includes restarting the client among its general download and installation troubleshooting steps. It does not promise that restarting will resolve this particular mismatch.

If an update will not download or install
- Check network stability. The Marvel Rivals FAQ recommends checking the network when downloads or installations run into trouble.
- Free storage space. The FAQ also advises ensuring there is enough available storage for the game installation or update.
- Check device compatibility. The same FAQ recommends verifying that the device meets compatibility requirements.
Marvel Rivals’ FAQ lists Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Store, and Loading Bay as supported platforms. It says players across platforms use the same servers, but account data does not currently cross-progress between platforms.
PS5: try PlayStation’s general update troubleshooting
If the update itself will not install on PS5, PlayStation’s game and app update support guide recommends general steps including testing the internet connection, restarting the console, and checking system software. If those do not help, its later options include reinstalling the game or using Safe Mode to clear the cache and rebuild the database.
