Turn on the dialogue setting for your LG TV
LG’s Clear Voice modes emphasize human-voice frequencies to bring speech forward. LG says the feature is useful when dialogue is drowned out by effects or poorly mixed audio, though the result can sound less natural or blended. Try it on the same scene you were watching, then switch back to your previous mode to compare.

These categories and labels come from LG’s [Clear Voice instructions](URL) and may not match every regional model. If you do not see the option, check your TV’s manual or LG’s model-specific support page rather than assuming the feature is available.

Compare sound modes using the same scene
After trying Clear Voice, compare it with Standard and the mode currently selected. Keep the volume unchanged and replay the same dialogue scene; otherwise, differences in the program mix or loudness can make the comparison misleading. Standard is intended as a general-purpose mode, while Clear Voice Pro is aimed at dialogue clarity. Mode names and choices vary by model.
LG notes that Cinema or Sports modes can sometimes make voices seem quieter or more masked. That does not mean those modes are always wrong; they may suit other content or preferences. Choose the one that makes speech intelligible without making the overall mix unpleasant.

Check whether the problem is limited to one source
A show, channel, or app may have a mix that places music or effects above dialogue. If the imbalance happens only in one program or input, it is not enough evidence to conclude the TV is defective. Compare a different program, another channel, a built-in app, or another connected source before resetting the TV or arranging service.
If you use a set-top box, check its volume as well as the TV’s. A source device can affect the audio reaching the television, so compare its settings and another source before changing more TV settings.

Run LG’s sound self-test if the problem persists
LG recommends Sound Self Diagnosis when TV audio remains low. The menu path depends on webOS generation, so use the instructions for your model. If audio sounds normal during the test, LG says the broadcast signal may be the cause; if the issue persists on a particular channel, reset the set-top box where appropriate and contact the service provider. If the test suggests abnormal TV output, or the sound problem continues across sources, follow LG support guidance and request a service assessment. The symptom alone does not prove a hardware fault.
Use AI Sound Pro only if your setup supports it
AI Sound Pro is a model-dependent option, not a universal fix. LG describes it as analyzing content to optimize audio and voices. Its general guidance gives this path for 2020-and-newer TVs: Settings > All Settings > General > AI Service > AI Sound Pro. For 2019-and-older TVs, the option may appear under Sound > AI Sound.

LG limits AI Sound to the TV’s internal speakers or supported LG soundbars with TV Sound Mode Share. A related LG guide specifies a supported Sound Share device connected through HDMI ARC/eARC. Check the TV and audio device compatibility before relying on this feature; its availability depends on both model and output device.

Dolby Atmos is not a dialogue-fix setting
Dolby Atmos playback requires compatible equipment and content that provides Atmos, and LG’s setup instructions differ by model and webOS generation. Atmos can be relevant to an immersive-audio setup, but LG’s guidance does not establish it as a remedy for dialogue masking or promise that it will make voices louder relative to effects.

Consider an external soundbar only after free checks
If the TV’s built-in modes and source troubleshooting do not suit your needs, an external soundbar with explicit dialogue enhancement or volume leveling is one possible next step. Check that it works with your TV connection, fits the room and placement, and has return and support terms that suit you. There is no established comparative test here to identify a best model.
LG’s 2025 specification sheet for the LG Sound Suite H7 lists Clear Voice Pro+ and Auto Volume Leveler. That feature listing does not establish compatibility with every LG TV, universal suitability, or current availability. Treat any soundbar as optional, not a prerequisite for fixing the issue.
