To push Claude Code toward a more considered website, add a quality target and a request for self-review and iteration to your brief. A tip attributed to developer @kajikent names Awwwards, the Webby Awards, or FWA as the aspiration, then asks the coding agent to check its work and keep refining it. That is a useful prompt pattern, not a guarantee of award-winning results.
The prompt to add to a website brief
TL;JP reported the tip in an October 6, 2026 roundup. Its central idea is to tell Claude Code or Codex to build toward a high-design standard associated with Awwwards, the Webby Awards, or FWA, and to self-check and iterate until the work reaches that bar. Read the TL;JP report on DEV Community.

Because the reported post does not provide a longer, verbatim prompt, treat this as a practical way to express its idea rather than an exact quotation:
Build this website to a high-design standard inspired by work recognized by Awwwards, the Webby Awards, or FWA. After implementing it, review the result against the goals and constraints in this brief, identify the most important shortcomings, and revise the site. Repeat the review and revision until the design and implementation meet the stated criteria. Explain any remaining trade-offs.
Put it at the end of a specific website brief, not in place of one. The awards reference sets an ambition; the brief still needs to explain what the site is for, who it serves, what content and functionality it needs, and any technical or brand constraints.

Make “high design” observable
The reported tip names awards but gives no evaluation criteria. For useful iterations, add checks that fit the actual project. These are practical suggestions, not criteria attributed to @kajikent or the awards named in the prompt.
- Visual hierarchy: Can a visitor quickly identify the page’s purpose, primary action, and most important information?
- Distinctiveness: Does the design have a coherent visual idea, rather than relying on generic layouts and decoration?
- Typography and spacing: Are text sizes, line lengths, alignment, and spacing consistent and readable?
- Responsive behavior: Do the layout and interactions work at narrow and wide viewport sizes?
- Accessibility: Are semantic structure, keyboard interaction, contrast, and text alternatives handled appropriately?
- Implementation quality: Does the site work with the project’s existing framework and conventions, without broken links, controls, or obvious errors?
Be explicit about priorities. For example, a portfolio site may value a memorable visual concept, while a service booking page may put clarity and completion of the booking flow first. A request to iterate without criteria can produce more changes without making the result better for its intended audience.
What the self-review loop can—and cannot—do
The useful part of the suffix is its combination of an ambitious reference and a revision loop. It asks the agent to assess an implementation rather than stopping after its first pass. Anthropic describes Claude Code as an agentic coding tool that reads a codebase, edits files, runs commands, and integrates with development tools; that product description explains why it can participate in an implementation-and-review workflow, but it is not evidence that this particular suffix improves design outcomes. See Anthropic’s Claude Code overview.
The post, as reported, supplies neither concrete scoring criteria nor measured win rates. There is no basis for saying the wording reliably produces award-winning sites or outperforms other prompts. Treat it as one practitioner’s technique: a starting point to test against your own brief, not a validated design method.

Keep the instruction in Claude Code project guidance
If you want the review habit to apply across sessions, Anthropic documents project-level instructions in a CLAUDE.md file in the project root, which Claude Code reads at the start of each session. Add a concise version of the quality target and review criteria there when they are genuinely relevant across the project; keep one-off requirements in the individual website brief. The official overview says most Claude Code surfaces require a Claude subscription or an Anthropic Console account. Check Anthropic’s current overview for access details and documentation.
