Nintendo’s current Majora’s Mask “free downloads” are digital rewards, not a free copy of the game. The Nintendo Today! app has a Majora’s Mask card pack, while Nintendo Switch Online members can redeem themed icon parts under a separate, time-limited offer. To play the full game on Switch, you need the paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

Is Majora’s Mask free on Switch?
No. The current promotions do not provide a free game download. Nintendo lists the game in the Nintendo 64 Nintendo Classics collection for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members, a paid membership sold separately. Check Nintendo’s local service page for availability and current membership terms, since Nintendo says availability varies by country.

How to get the Majora’s Mask cards
- Install Nintendo Today! on a compatible smart device and sign in with a Nintendo Account.
- Open the app and find the Majora’s Mask card pack. Nintendo says it began October 4, 2026.
- Check the pack each day to receive that day’s card. If you want to recover missed cards or get wallpapers, take the quiz while it is available and exchange earned medals for the eligible rewards.
Nintendo describes the app as free, but the cards are collectibles, not access to the game. The U.S. announcement of Zelda digital cards explains the app’s daily-card and quiz features: Nintendo Today! digital cards.

How to redeem the icon parts
- Make sure you have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership.
- Play Majora’s Mask in Nintendo 64 Nintendo Classics.
- Open the Nintendo Switch Online app on your Switch or Switch 2 and check the icon-parts redemption screen for the current eligibility and any point cost.
Nintendo Japan announced these parts through October 23, 2026, at 9:59 a.m. Japan time. The notice does not specify a points price, so the live redemption screen is the source to check before assuming no points are needed. See Nintendo Japan’s promotion terms.

What is—and is not—confirmed about the other promotion details
Nintendo Japan’s October 5, 2026 announcement also said Majora’s Mask music was scheduled for Nintendo Music on October 9 for Nintendo Switch Online members. That announcement establishes the planned date, not whether the music subsequently became available. Check the app for its current catalog.
Nintendo of America says Majora’s Mask originally released for Nintendo 64 in 2000. A physical cartridge is a separate option for people with compatible hardware; the announcement does not establish current stock, condition, or pricing.
