Choose the right Lyca SIM setup route
Lyca UK’s setup route depends on whether you have a physical SIM card or an eSIM. Your phone must be unlocked and compatible with the selected SIM type. An eSIM also requires a handset that supports eSIM; Lyca’s retrieved guide does not list device-specific compatibility details.

How to activate a physical Lyca SIM
- Check that your phone is unlocked and compatible with Lyca’s service.
- Insert the Lyca SIM card into the phone.
- Follow the activation instructions provided with the SIM or by Lyca. The retrieved UK guide does not establish a single exact activation screen or menu path, so use the current instructions supplied for your order.
How to activate a Lyca eSIM
- Confirm that your phone supports eSIM.
- Find the QR code in your Lyca order confirmation email.
- Scan the QR code and follow the phone’s on-screen prompts to add the eSIM and complete setup.
The steps and labels can vary by handset. Lyca’s retrieved guide does not provide device-specific eSIM instructions.
How to check that the SIM is working
Lyca’s privacy policy says to make a call, send an SMS and/or use mobile data in the home country to check service. It does not say every customer must complete all three actions. Have sufficient account credit for the service you intend to use; the instructions do not specify that a particular plan must be purchased before activation.
How to keep your number when switching to Lyca
Number transfer is separate from activating your new Lyca service. Lyca’s UK port-in instructions say to activate the Lyca SIM or eSIM first, then request the transfer using a PAC from your current provider.
- Request a PAC from your current mobile provider. Lyca says a PAC is valid for 30 days.
- Activate your Lyca service before starting the number transfer.
- Use Lyca’s current Switch to Lyca process and provide your Lyca number, SIM ICCID and PAC.
- Find the ICCID on the physical SIM holder. For an eSIM, Lyca says it is usually in the QR-code confirmation email.
Check Lyca’s current transfer form and timing when you submit the request; transfer timing is not established in the retrieved instructions.

What to do if your Lyca SIM is not working
Lyca’s retrieved pages do not give a complete failure-diagnosis procedure. These are basic checks, not a Lyca-confirmed troubleshooting sequence:
- Check that the physical SIM is seated correctly, or that the eSIM was downloaded and added to the phone.
- Confirm the phone is unlocked and supports the SIM type you selected.
- Restart the phone and try the service check again.
- Check whether the action you are trying to take requires account credit, and top up if needed.
Lyca’s Quick Top Up page asks for your Lyca mobile number and offers debit card, credit card and alternate payment methods. Use the current page for available payment options.
Contact Lyca Mobile UK for help
Lyca’s UK contact page lists 322 when calling from a Lyca number, or 0207 132 0322 / +44 207 132 0322 from another network or abroad. It also lists LIA chat and email. The page states advisor hours of 7:00 AM–11:00 PM GMT Monday through Saturday, with Sunday closed; check the current contact page because support details and hours can change.
