What do the attenuation ratings mean?
Loop’s Help Center lists these ratings using the Single Number Rating (SNR) system: Quiet 2 at 24 dB SNR, Experience 2 at 17 dB SNR and Engage 2 at 16 dB SNR. For Switch 2, it lists 26 dB SNR in Quiet mode, 23 dB SNR in Experience mode and 20 dB SNR in Engage mode. These are product specifications, not a promise of the reduction any one person will experience.

Loop’s US Engage 2 product page separately lists an 8 dB Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). SNR and NRR are different rating systems, so do not compare those figures as though they were measurements on one shared scale. A higher rating alone also does not settle which model is best: Quiet and Dream emphasize greater sound reduction, while Experience and Engage are intended to leave music or speech more usable. Taddei’s review explains the distinction and notes that seal and fit affect actual reduction.

On Loop’s US comparison page as accessed October 7, 2026, the listed prices were Quiet 2 at $24.95, Experience 2 and Engage 2 at $34.95 each, Dream at $49.95, and Switch 2 at $59.95. Those are a dated snapshot, not a promise of today’s price; check the live US comparison before buying. The higher-priced option only makes sense if its specific use case or the convenience of switching modes is valuable to you.
Why fit matters as much as model
An earplug’s stated rating cannot account for every wearer’s ear shape or insertion. If the tip does not seal properly, the actual reduction may differ from the product specification. Loop supplies multiple tip sizes on its current US Engage 2 page; check the listing for the model you plan to buy to confirm what is included.

Loop’s instructions say that hearing your own voice more loudly is a sign of a good seal. Follow the model’s fitting instructions, try the supplied tip sizes, and make sure the plug sits securely without discomfort. Comfort also matters over the full time you intend to wear it: a theoretically suitable model is not a good choice if you cannot keep it comfortably in place. Are Loop earplugs enough for loud environments?
No attenuation rating guarantees an individual result or makes every loud environment safe. Fit affects reduction, and the intended balance between blocking sound and hearing speech or music varies by model. For occupational hearing protection or another safety-critical use, do not rely on a general product comparison: verify the specific model’s current documentation and follow applicable safety guidance.

Loop for Business states that its earplugs comply with EU EN352-2 and US ANSI S3.19-1973 standards. That is a company statement; check the current documentation or packaging for the exact model before making a compliance decision. Loop’s technology page describes the company’s standards claims.

- Name the setting. Choose the main job: sleep, everyday noise and focus, live music, conversation, or switching between situations.
- Decide what you need to hear. If speech or music should remain more usable, start with Engage 2 or Experience 2; if reducing more sound is the priority, consider Quiet 2 or Dream.
- Check the rating system. Keep SNR and NRR units attached to their figures and do not rank them together as one scale.
- Get a proper seal. Use the fitting instructions and supplied tip options; an imperfect fit can undermine the intended reduction.
- Check current details. Confirm today’s price, included tip sizes and model information on the live product page before purchase.
In Taddei’s August 20, 2025 review, based on lab and real-world evaluation including a concert, Quiet provided the greatest reduction among the reviewed options, Experience gave a fuller, more balanced sound at a show, and Switch let him move between modes.
