Lookout Premium Plus: What It Includes and Whether It’s Worth It

Lookout Premium Plus is a legacy name for a consumer security plan now associated with F-Secure Mobile Security. Learn what current listings advertise and what to check before subscribing.

Lookout Premium Plus is the historical name for a consumer mobile-security plan that paired device protections with identity-theft services. Lookout sold its consumer mobile-security business to F-Secure in 2023, and the current consumer app listing is F-Secure Mobile Security; Google Play says “Lookout Life is now F-Secure Mobile Security.” The old name may still appear in searches or account screens, but it is not the name used by the current listing.

Whether the service is worth paying for depends on the plan and features offered in your country and purchase channel—and whether you want identity monitoring as well as phone security. Store descriptions explain what the app advertises, but the available sources do not establish independent detection results or identity-restoration outcomes.

What Lookout Premium Plus is today

Lookout Premium Plus refers to a consumer offering that combined mobile-device security with identity-protection features. Lookout announced on April 25, 2023, that it had agreed to sell its consumer mobile-security business to F-Secure and said its own business would focus on enterprise customers. The current Android app listing uses the F-Secure Mobile Security name and connects it to the former Lookout Life name.

This is distinct from Lookout’s enterprise security products. The name “Premium Plus” has also been used for a separate enterprise support tier, so a reference to that phrase alone does not identify the consumer subscription.

What the current app listings say it includes

Store descriptions position F-Secure Mobile Security as a combination of mobile security and, for some plans and locations, identity protection. These are the providers’ product claims, not independent confirmation of detection or recovery performance.

Device and browsing features

The Apple Saudi storefront listing describes device location and an alarm, saving a location when the battery is low, remote lock and wipe, breach reports, and Wi-Fi and browsing protections. The Google Play listing describes protection against viruses, malware, spyware and phishing, as well as Theft Alerts.

Identity protection

Google Play says Mobile Security Premium Plus adds identity-theft protection to Premium functionality. Apple’s Saudi listing also describes identity-theft protection, but explicitly labels it “US only.” That makes location a key qualification: do not assume identity features shown in one storefront are available with the same scope in your country.

Is Lookout Premium Plus worth it?

It may suit someone who wants a single mobile app for device protections and identity services, provided the relevant features are actually offered in their country and plan. It is a weaker fit if you only need basic phone security, do not want to provide identity data, or cannot confirm what the subscription costs and renews for.

  • Consider it if you value the listed device and browsing tools and expect to use the identity-protection services included in your specific plan.
  • Check alternatives if you want only device security, already receive identity monitoring elsewhere, or need clearly documented restoration or insurance terms before subscribing.
  • Do not judge it by the old name alone: check the current F-Secure listing or the plan shown through your carrier, since purchase routes and feature availability can differ.

The available source material does not provide independent consumer-product testing, a verified detection-rate comparison, or evidence of identity-restoration success. Store descriptions are useful for identifying advertised features, not for proving how well they work in practice.

Price and availability: check your own purchase channel

Current storefronts show localized app names and multiple in-app purchase entries. For example, the Saudi Apple listing displays purchase examples of SAR 39.99 and SAR 259.99, but those entries do not reliably identify a billing period or map each amount to a particular plan. They should not be treated as a universal monthly or annual price.

Identity-data and privacy trade-offs

Identity monitoring can require sensitive details to match records. Lookout’s consumer privacy notice says identity-protection data may include a driver’s license number, Social Security number, passport or other identification number, bank-account and payment-card details, medical-insurance number, and other personal information. It identifies CSIdentity, described as part of Experian, as a partner that may collect identity-theft-protection data, and describes sharing with service providers needed to provide those services.

The notice is not a current enrollment screen, so it does not establish that every subscriber is asked for every listed item today. Apple’s Saudi storefront privacy labels say the app may collect location, contact information, browsing history, identifiers and diagnostics linked to the user; it says usage data may be unlinked. Those disclosures apply to that listing and may vary with usage and jurisdiction.

Before enrollment, review the data requested in the current app flow, identify which provider handles each identity service, and decide whether the service is useful where you live. The available sources do not establish current enrollment requirements or current identity-insurance wording.

How to decide before subscribing

  1. Find the current listing. Search for F-Secure Mobile Security in your app store, or inspect the plan name in your carrier account. Google Play explicitly connects the former Lookout Life name to the current app.
  2. Check the features for your location and device. Confirm whether identity protection is offered, and whether the device, browsing and theft features you want are included for your operating system and plan.
  3. Read the price and renewal details. Confirm the billing period, full charge, renewal terms and cancellation path in the exact purchase channel you will use.
  4. Review data and service terms. Read the current enrollment disclosures and any insurance or restoration terms before providing identity or financial information.
  5. Match the plan to your needs. Pay for identity services only if you want them and can use them; otherwise compare device-security options on the protections and terms that matter to you.

Verdict

Lookout Premium Plus is best understood as a legacy consumer-plan name for an offering now represented by F-Secure Mobile Security. Its advertised combination of mobile security and identity protection may be useful, but the value depends on local availability, exact subscription terms, data handling and the benefits you intend to use. Confirm those details in your own storefront or carrier account rather than relying on an old Lookout Premium Plus listing or a price from another region.
