1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsLogitech G Hub can sometimes refuse to load, hang on the loading screen, or open as a blank window even when your mouse, keyboard, headset, or other Logitech gear is connected. In most cases, the issue comes from a stuck background process, damaged app cache, missing permissions, outdated drivers, or Windows blocking part of the software.
Before removing the app or contacting Logitech support, you can usually fix the problem with a few quick checks. The steps below focus on restarting G Hub properly, clearing corrupted data, updating the software, and checking Windows settings that commonly stop Logitech G Hub from launching.

Check If Logitech G Hub Is Stuck in the Background
When Logitech G Hub does not open, the app may already be running invisibly in the background. This can happen after a failed launch, a Windows wake-from-sleep event, or a previous crash where one of the G Hub processes did not close correctly. In that state, clicking the desktop shortcut may do nothing, show the loading animation forever, or briefly flash the G Hub window before disappearing.

The quickest way to check this is through Windows Task Manager. Close any visible Logitech G Hub window first, then press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. If it opens in compact view, select More details. Under the Processes tab, look for entries such as LGHUB, LGHUB Agent, LGHUB Updater, Logitech G Hub, or similar Logitech background tasks.

- Right-click each Logitech G Hub-related process.
- Select End task.
- Repeat until no G Hub-related processes remain in Task Manager.
- Wait about 10 seconds.
- Launch Logitech G Hub again from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
If G Hub opens normally after ending these processes, the issue was likely a hung background session rather than a damaged installation. To reduce the chance of it happening again, avoid launching the app mulle times in quick succession. If you use a laptop, also test whether the problem appears after sleep or hibernation, since USB device detection and Logitech services can sometimes resume out of order.
Check the system tray as well
Logitech G Hub may also remain minimized in the Windows system tray. Select the small arrow near the clock on the taskbar and look for the G Hub icon. If you see it, right-click it and choose Quit if that option is available. After quitting from the tray, reopen the app normally. This is often enough when G Hub is running but its main window is not appearing.
If the process immediately returns after you end it, restart Windows and try opening G Hub once after the desktop fully loads. A clean restart clears stuck app sessions, releases locked files, and reloads USB-related services. If G Hub still stays on the loading screen after you have ended its background processes and restarted the PC, move on to restarting its related services, since the app may be waiting on a service rather than the main interface itself.

Restart Logitech G Hub and Related Services
If Logitech G Hub opens to a blank window, stays on the loading animation, or never appears after you click the shortcut, the app may not be the only thing stuck. G Hub relies on several background components to detect your mouse, keyboard, headset, or wheel and to load profiles correctly. Restarting those processes can often bring the app back without changing your settings or reinstalling anything.
Start by closing G Hub completely from the system tray if it is visible. Click the small arrow near the Windows clock, right-click the Logitech G Hub icon, and choose Quit. Then restart the main processes from Task Manager so Windows launches them cleanly the next time you open the app.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- If Task Manager opens in compact mode, select More details.
- Go to the Processes tab.
- Look for entries such as LGHUB, LGHUB Agent, LGHUB Updater, or Logitech G Hub.
- Select each related item and click End task.
- Wait 10 to 15 seconds, then open Logitech G Hub again from the Start menu.
If G Hub still does not load, restart the Windows services and startup components that may be linked to Logitech software. This is especially useful after a failed update, a Windows sleep or hibernation issue, or when your device lights up but G Hub does not detect it.
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Look for Logitech-related services, such as LGHUB Updater Service or similar Logitech entries.
- Right-click the service and choose Restart. If Restart is unavailable, choose Start.
- Double-click the service and confirm that Startup type is set to Automatic or Automatic (Delayed Start).
- Click Apply, then OK.
After restarting the services, unplug and reconnect your Logitech device if it uses USB. For wireless devices, try turning the device off and on again, then reconnect the receiver or cable. If you use a USB hub, connect the device directly to the PC for this test, since some hubs can delay device detection and make G Hub appear stuck while it waits for hardware information.

A full Windows restart is also worth doing at this stage, but use Restart instead of Shut down. On many Windows systems, Shut down can use Fast Startup, which saves part of the previous session. Restart clears more background state and gives Logitech G Hub, its updater, and device services a cleaner launch. Once Windows loads again, wait a minute before opening G Hub so startup services have time to initialize.
Run Logitech G Hub as an Administrator
If Logitech G Hub opens to a blank screen, stays on the loading animation, or fails to detect your mouse, keyboard, headset, or wheel, Windows permissions may be blocking part of the app from starting correctly. G Hub needs access to device services, profile folders, startup entries, and sometimes driver-level features. Running it as an administrator can help when the app loads partially but cannot apply settings or communicate with connected Logitech hardware.
Before doing this, close Logitech G Hub completely. Right-click the G Hub icon in the system tray near the clock, then choose Quit if the option appears. If it does not close, open Task Manager, look for lghub.exe, lghub_agent.exe, and lghub_updater.exe, then select each one and click End task. Once those background processes are stopped, launch the app with elevated permissions.
- Open the Start menu and type Logitech G Hub.
- Right-click Logitech G Hub in the search results.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Click Yes if the Windows User Account Control prompt appears.
- Wait for G Hub to open, then check whether your device appears and your profiles load.
If this fixes the loading problem, you can set G Hub to always launch with administrator permissions. This is useful if the issue returns every time you restart Windows or if G Hub only works after manually elevating it. To do this, right-click the Logitech G Hub shortcut and choose Open file location. Right-click the shortcut again, select Properties, open the Compatibility tab, check Run this program as an administrator, then click Apply and OK.
Recommended Free Tools
If you do not see the Compatibility option on the Start menu shortcut, go directly to the installation folder instead. The default location is usually C:\Program Files\LGHUB. Find lghub.exe, right-click it, select Properties, then enable Run this program as an administrator from the Compatibility tab. After applying the change, restart your PC and open G Hub again from the normal desktop or Start menu shortcut.
Running as administrator should not be treated as a permanent workaround if G Hub still hangs, crashes, or fails to save settings. If the app only opens with elevated permissions, that can point to damaged user permissions, blocked folders, or security software interfering with G Hub’s files. In that case, continue with the next fixes, especially updating or reinstalling Logitech G Hub and clearing its app data cache.
Update or Reinstall Logitech G Hub
If Logitech G Hub still will not load after ending background tasks and running it with administrator rights, the installation itself may be damaged or outdated. A failed update, interrupted shutdown, missing program file, or compatibility issue with a newer Windows build can leave G Hub stuck on the loading screen. Updating the app first is the fastest route, but if the updater cannot open or the interface never appears, a clean reinstall is usually more reliable.

Try updating G Hub first
- Open Logitech G Hub if it reaches the main window.
- Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner to open settings.
- Look for the current version information and enable Automatic Updates if it is turned off.
- If an update prompt appears, install it, then restart your PC before testing G Hub again.
If the app does not open far enough to access settings, download the latest installer directly from Logitech’s official G Hub download page. Running the newest installer over the existing version can repair missing files without removing your profiles. Close G Hub first from the system tray and Task Manager, then launch the installer as an administrator. After installation, restart Windows and check whether your mouse, keyboard, headset, or wheel appears correctly in the app.

When a normal update does not work, uninstalling and reinstalling G Hub can replace corrupted components. Before removing it, consider whether you need to preserve custom DPI settings, macros, lighting profiles, or game-specific assignments. If cloud sync is enabled on your Logitech account, sign in again after reinstalling to restore synced profiles. If you use local-only profiles, take screenshots of essential settings before uninstalling.
- Press Windows + I and open Apps.
- Go to Installed apps or Apps & features, depending on your Windows version.
- Find Logitech G Hub, choose Uninstall, and follow the prompts.
- Restart your computer after the uninstall finishes.
- Download the latest G Hub installer from Logitech’s official website.
- Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator.
- Complete the setup, restart again, then connect your Logitech device directly to the PC rather than through a hub or dock.
During reinstall, disconnect extra Logitech devices if the installer hangs while detecting hardware. Leave only one primary device connected, such as your mouse or keyboard, then reconnect the rest once G Hub opens successfully. For USB receivers, try a different USB port, preferably one on the back of a desktop motherboard or a built-in laptop port. This helps rule out a port, dock, or receiver detection problem that can make the app appear broken even after a fresh install.
If G Hub launches after reinstalling but your profiles are missing, sign in to your Logitech account and wait a few minutes for sync to complete. You can also check the device page inside G Hub to confirm onboard memory mode is not preventing software profiles from applying. If the program still freezes on startup after a clean reinstall, move on to clearing app data and cache, since leftover configuration files can survive a basic uninstall and continue causing the same loading problem.
Clear Logitech G Hub App Data and Cache
If Logitech G Hub still will not load after restarting the app or reinstalling it, the problem may be stored in its local app data. G Hub saves profiles, temporary files, device settings, update data, and cached launch files inside your Windows user folders. When one of these files becomes corrupted, the app can open to a blank screen, spin endlessly on the loading animation, or fail to detect your Logitech mouse, keyboard, headset, or wheel.
Before clearing these folders, fully close Logitech G Hub. Right-click the G Hub icon in the system tray and choose Quit. Then open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc and end any remaining processes named lghub.exe, lghub_agent.exe, lghub_updater.exe, or similar. This prevents Windows from locking the files while you remove them.
Delete the Logitech G Hub cache folders
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type %appdata% and press Enter.
- Look for a folder named LGHUB or Logitech.
- Right-click the folder and choose Delete. If you want a backup, rename it first to something like LGHUB_old.
- Press Windows + R again, type %localappdata%, and press Enter.
- Delete or rename any LGHUB or Logitech folders found there.
- Restart your PC, then launch Logitech G Hub again.
After G Hub starts, it should rebuild fresh app data automatically. You may need to sign in again, re-enable integrations, or reselect your device profiles. If you use custom DPI stages, macros, lighting effects, equalizer presets, or game-specific profiles, check whether they are stored in your Logitech account or onboard memory before deleting anything. Renaming the folders instead of deleting them gives you a simple way to restore old data if needed.

Folders commonly involved
| Location | What it may contain |
|---|---|
| %appdata%\LGHUB | User profiles, settings, and configuration files |
| %localappdata%\LGHUB | Cache files, temporary launch data, and update remnants |
| %programdata%\LGHUB | Shared app data and service-related files |
If the app still hangs after clearing %appdata% and %localappdata%, repeat the process with %programdata%. Open Run, enter %programdata%, and remove the LGHUB folder if it exists. Then restart Windows before opening G Hub. A clean set of data files often fixes loading loops caused by failed updates, broken settings migrations, or damaged cache entries left behind after an uninstall.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Check Windows Updates, Drivers, and Firewall Settings
If Logitech G Hub still will not load after restarting the app, clearing cache, or reinstalling it, check the Windows components it depends on. G Hub needs working device drivers, current system libraries, and permission to communicate locally and online. A pending Windows update, broken USB driver, or blocked firewall rule can leave the app stuck on the loading screen even when the installation itself is fine.
Install pending Windows updates
Start by updating Windows, then restart the PC even if Windows does not force you to. G Hub can fail to open correctly when background components such as .NET, Visual C++ runtimes, USB device support, or security services are outdated or waiting for a reboot.
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install all available updates, including optional driver updates if they relate to USB, chipset, Bluetooth, or Logitech devices.
- Restart your computer, then open Logitech G Hub again.
Update device and USB drivers
Logitech G Hub may hang while trying to detect a mouse, keyboard, headset, webcam, wheel, or receiver if Windows is using a faulty or outdated driver. This is especially common after a Windows upgrade, motherboard change, USB hub issue, or failed driver installation.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices, Keyboards, Mice and other pointing devices, Sound, video and game controllers, and Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Look for devices with a yellow warning icon or entries related to Logitech hardware.
- Right-click the device and choose Update driver, then select Search automatically for drivers.
- If the device still behaves incorrectly, unplug it, restart the PC, and plug it directly into a motherboard USB port instead of a hub or dock.
For gaming laptops and custom desktops, also check the support page for your motherboard or laptop model. Installing the latest chipset, USB controller, Bluetooth, and audio drivers can fix detection problems that Device Manager does not always resolve automatically.
Allow Logitech G Hub through Windows Firewall
Firewall or security software can also stop G Hub from loading properly, especially if it blocks Logitech services from starting, signing in, checking updates, or syncing device profiles. Windows Firewall usually allows G Hub automatically, but the rule can be missing after a reinstall or security reset.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

- Go to Firewall & network protection.
- Select Allow an app through firewall.
- Click Change settings.
- Look for LGHUB, lghub_agent, lghub_updater, or similar Logitech entries.
- Enable access on Private networks. If you use G Hub on a trusted home network, this is usually enough.
- If the entries are missing, select Allow another app and browse to the Logitech G Hub installation folder, usually under C:\Program Files\LGHUB.
If you use a third-party antivirus or firewall, temporarily disable only its firewall or app-control feature for a short test, then launch G Hub. If the app opens, add Logitech G Hub and its related executables to the security software’s allow list instead of leaving protection disabled. After updating Windows, refreshing drivers, and confirming firewall access, restart once more and test G Hub with your Logitech device connected directly to the PC.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Logitech G Hub stuck on the loading screen?
Logitech G Hub usually gets stuck when one of its background processes freezes, its local app data becomes corrupted, or Windows blocks part of the app from starting correctly. Closing all LGHUB processes in Task Manager and reopening the app as an administrator fixes many loading issues. If it still hangs, clearing the G Hub cache or reinstalling the latest version is usually the next best step.
Will uninstalling Logitech G Hub delete my mouse, keyboard, or headset settings?
Uninstalling G Hub can remove local profiles, macros, lighting settings, and device-specific preferences if they are not backed up or synced. If you can still open the app, check whether your profiles are saved to your Logitech account or stored onboard on the device. Before reinstalling, you can also back up the LGHUB settings folder from your AppData directory if you want to preserve local configurations.
What Logitech G Hub processes should I close in Task Manager?
Look for processes such as LGHUB, LGHUB Agent, LGHUB Updater, and Logitech G Hub in Task Manager. End each of them, then wait a few seconds before launching G Hub again. This helps when the interface is not opening but parts of the software are still running in the background.
Can Windows Firewall or antivirus software stop Logitech G Hub from loading?
Yes, firewall or antivirus tools can block G Hub services, updates, or device detection, especially after a Windows update or security software change. Add Logitech G Hub to the allowed apps list in Windows Security or your third-party antivirus program. If you recently installed new security software, temporarily disabling it for a quick test can help confirm whether it is causing the loading problem.
Should I clear Logitech G Hub cache before reinstalling it?
Yes, clearing the cache is worth trying before a full reinstall because corrupted temporary files are a common cause of loading failures. Close all G Hub processes first, then remove the relevant LGHUB folders from AppData, especially in Local and Roaming if present. After that, restart your PC and open G Hub again so it can rebuild fresh app data.
Bottom Line
If Logitech G Hub is not loading, start with the quickest fixes: close stuck LGHUB processes in Task Manager, restart the app as administrator, and reboot your PC. If that does not work, clear the app’s cached files, update Windows and your device drivers, then repair or reinstall G Hub only as a last step.
Work through the steps in order so you can identify what actually caused the issue instead of guessing. If G Hub still will not open after a clean reinstall, check Logitech’s support page for known outages or device-specific fixes.
