What is the main difference between the F310 and F710?
The F310 connects to a computer with a cable; the F710 connects wirelessly using a USB nano receiver. Logitech lists a 1.98-meter (6.5-foot) cable for the F310 and a 10-meter (30-foot) wireless range for the F710. The range is the manufacturer’s stated specification, not an independent test of how far it works in a particular room or setup.

The published specs establish feature differences, not which controller performs better overall. They do not establish a comparative latency, durability, or comfort result. Logitech describes the F710’s 2.4 GHz connection as low latency, but that is manufacturer language, not an independent head-to-head latency test.
How do XInput and DirectInput affect game compatibility?
Both controllers have a switch for XInput and DirectInput. Logitech recommends setting the F710 switch to “X” when playing a new game, describing XInput as a way for the controller to work natively with modern Windows games. DirectInput supports basic input and Logitech Gaming Software customization, according to Logitech Support’s F710 input-mode guidance.

These modes do not guarantee compatibility with every game or operating system. Logitech says it does not provide configuration software for non-Windows systems, and many games allow input configuration in their own settings. The reviewed technical pages list release-era Windows support, including Windows XP through Windows 7; those old lists should not be treated as a complete compatibility statement for current systems.
