It is a starting point for a login page—not a working authentication system: you must connect its form to server-side login code or an authentication service.
What Login Form 12 includes
Colorlib’s 2026 collection presents Login Form 12 as a visual template built around an image background and blue shadow overlay. The layout includes a name and image, plus a login button with a hover effect; the button can be linked to registration. Colorlib also describes the layout as responsive for mobile devices. These are descriptions from the collection page, not independent tests of the downloaded files.

That makes the template a fit to consider if you want a branded, image-led sign-in page. If you prefer a minimal card or split-screen layout, the collection lists other patterns, but no comparative testing of those templates is established here. When choosing, consider the visual layout, which sign-in methods you actually need, mobile behavior, dependencies, customization effort, and license and attribution terms.

How to make a login page in HTML from the template
- Download and inspect the package. Open its HTML and CSS in a code editor. Review the files and existing form markup before changing them.
- Adapt the page. Replace sample text, links, name, and image with your own content. Adjust the colors, fonts, and background image in the CSS to match your site.
- Connect the form. Set its form action to your server-side login route or connect it to an authentication service. The HTML and CSS provide the presentation; they do not authenticate users.
- Check it in a browser. Open the adapted page and inspect its appearance and behavior on desktop and phone-sized screens. Verify that the fields and buttons lead to the intended destinations.
- Test the complete sign-in flow. Confirm that the server or authentication service handles credentials securely over HTTPS, returns useful field-level errors, and does not reveal which account detail was incorrect.
What the template does not provide
A downloaded login form does not create user accounts, verify passwords, or protect an application by itself. Password checks belong on the server or within a properly connected authentication service, and requests should use HTTPS. A button or provider icon in a demo is not proof that the corresponding sign-in method works: Colorlib cautions that social, passkey, Face ID, and SSO buttons in its 2026 demos are simulated until connected to real providers.

For a usable sign-in experience, allow browser and password-manager autofill, permit users to paste passwords, and show clear errors beside the relevant fields. Avoid messages that disclose whether an account name or password was the incorrect detail. Treat these as implementation guidance, not verified built-in features of Login Form 12.

Is Login Form 12 a good starting point?
Choose it if an image-led page with a blue overlay suits your branding and you are prepared to adapt the markup and CSS, preserve the required attribution, and build or connect the authentication behind the form. If you need a particular sign-in provider or security feature, verify that it is implemented in your own authentication setup rather than assuming the template supplies it.
