Restream documents a limit of 10 loops and 40 hours for one looped event, and requires a Marathon or Media add-on for looping. LiveReacting describes looping up to the stream-length limit of the selected plan and offers a separate 24/7 product. Choose based on whether you need a finite replay or uninterrupted broadcasting—and verify the exact plan limits before paying.
LiveReacting vs Restream: the practical difference
For a finite scheduled replay, the clearest documented limit is Restream’s cap of 10 repetitions and 40 hours per looped event. LiveReacting describes a loop that runs up to the maximum stream duration allowed by the selected plan. If you need a stream that does not stop, LiveReacting has a separate 24/7 product; Restream’s cited loop documentation describes a finite event, not an unlimited one.
In either service, you upload a video and configure the broadcast; the provider’s servers send it to YouTube. Your computer does not need to remain online once the stream is set up. These are service capabilities, not promises about views, monetization, or YouTube policy approval.
| What to compare | Restream | LiveReacting |
|---|---|---|
| Loop duration | Up to 40 hours per looped event, according to Restream Help Center documentation dated March 11, 2026. Source | Loops up to the maximum stream length on the selected plan; its product information also describes a separate 24/7 option. Verify current plan limits. Source |
| Loop count | Up to 10 repeats for one video. | One video can loop up to the plan’s maximum stream duration; a numeric repeat cap is not stated on the cited product page. |
| Plan needed for looping | Looping is available with Marathon and Media add-on plans; prerecorded streaming itself is available to all Restream users. | Plan-dependent. The 24/7 product is separate; check which plan fits the intended duration and number of concurrent streams. |
| Playlist looping | The loop feature does not support looping playlists. Restream suggests duplicating videos in a playlist as a workaround. | LiveReacting describes support for looping playlists. |
| Library and quality listed for Restream add-ons | Premier: two-hour library, 1080p; Marathon: four-hour library, 1080p; Media: 12-hour library, 4K. These are vendor-listed add-on details observed October 3, 2026, and may change. Source | File-size, storage, duration, and resolution limits depend on the plan. Check the current product and pricing pages for your file and output needs. |
| Scheduled start | Scheduled events start automatically at the chosen time, even if you are offline. Some destinations may still require a manual start on the destination. | Supports immediate or scheduled starts; the service describes server-side streaming after upload. |
Which service fits your broadcast?
Choose Restream for a bounded repeat event
Restream is a fit if your video can finish within a 40-hour event and no more than 10 repeats, and you are willing to use a plan that includes looping. Remember that its loop feature applies to an uploaded video, not a looping playlist. If you have several clips, duplicating entries in a playlist is the workaround Restream describes, but that is not the same as playlist looping.

Choose LiveReacting for playlist looping or its 24/7 offering
LiveReacting describes looping a video up to the selected plan’s maximum duration, playlist looping, and a distinct 24/7 product. That makes its offering worth checking when you need a continuous stream or a playlist that repeats. The pricing page lists one concurrent stream for the 24/7 plan; verify whether that and the current duration, storage, file-size, and resolution limits match your use case. Check LiveReacting’s current pricing and plan details.

How to set up a prerecorded YouTube Live broadcast
- Confirm the channel can livestream. YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to start livestreaming. A third-party service cannot bypass eligibility restrictions. See YouTube’s livestream setup guidance.
- Choose the event shape. Decide whether you need one video repeated a fixed number of times, a repeating playlist, or a continuous stream. For Restream, keep a looped event within 10 repeats and 40 hours; for LiveReacting, check the chosen plan’s duration and concurrent-stream allowance.
- Check your rights and file. Make sure you have the rights needed for every part of the video, including music, performances, and third-party material. Owning the file does not necessarily mean you have permission to broadcast everything embedded in it. Review the service’s current file-size, duration, storage, and resolution limits before upload.
- Upload and configure the broadcast. Connect the YouTube channel, select the uploaded video or playlist, set the loop behavior supported by your plan, and schedule the start time or start immediately. With Restream, a scheduled event starts automatically at its selected time; check destination-specific instructions if you are also sending to other channels.
- Review the live event. Check YouTube Studio and the destination stream after it begins. Confirm the intended video is playing, the event is active, and the broadcast has not been interrupted. Do not assume the third-party service changes YouTube’s channel or monetization policies.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded video at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.

You are responsible for broadcast rights
YouTube’s livestream terms require live content to comply with its Community Guidelines and applicable law. You need the necessary rights for the video’s full contents, including music and performances; a purchased or self-produced video file does not by itself establish that every included work is cleared for live broadcast. YouTube Terms of Service.
Looping does not guarantee monetization
YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams. Its policy says content should be original and authentic; repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible. A July 15, 2025 notice clarified that repetitive or mass-produced material is covered by its “inauthentic content” policy. Reviewers assess the channel and content against YouTube’s policies, so a streaming tool cannot guarantee monetization or preserve eligibility. YouTube channel monetization policies.

The cited YouTube sources establish livestream eligibility, rights duties, and monetization standards; they do not establish a universal requirement that every prerecorded live event must be labeled as prerecorded. Be transparent with viewers when appropriate and check current destination guidance.
Common problems and what to check
- The stream will not start: Confirm the channel is verified and not subject to a live-streaming restriction from the previous 90 days. Check that the correct YouTube channel is connected and the event is scheduled for the intended time.
- The event stops before the expected end: Check the service’s duration limit and plan entitlement. Restream’s documented loop cap is 40 hours and 10 repeats; LiveReacting’s loop length depends on the selected plan.
- A playlist does not repeat on Restream: Restream says its loop feature does not support playlist looping. Use a single video for the loop feature or consider its documented workaround of duplicating playlist entries.
- A scheduled broadcast is not live on a destination: Restream says scheduled events start automatically, but some destinations may require a manual Go Live action after Restream begins sending the stream. Check the destination-specific setup steps.
- A video cannot be uploaded or does not fit the plan: Compare the file’s duration, size, and resolution with the service’s current plan limits. Library caps and plan details can change.
- A monetization review or rights issue arises: Review the YouTube policy status of the channel and clear rights for all embedded material. Repeating a video does not exempt it from originality, rights, or channel review.
Frequently asked questions
Does a computer need to stay on while the video streams?
No. Both services describe server-side streaming after upload and setup, so the local computer is not the source that must remain online.
Does a prerecorded live stream have to be labeled as prerecorded?
The cited YouTube guidance does not establish a universal blanket labeling rule. Check current destination guidance and use clear viewer-facing disclosure when it is appropriate.
