The exact controls for starting or restarting a cloud stream depend on the provider. YouTube does not offer one universal remote-control app for every third-party service.
First decide what the phone is doing
YouTube treats mobile streaming and encoder-based streaming as separate ways to go live. In a direct mobile stream, the phone captures and sends the video. In an encoder or cloud-hosted setup, the encoder or provider sends the feed; the phone can be a management screen, and does not have to be the camera. YouTube’s overview describes the available methods: Get started with live streaming.
- Phone as camera and sender: Start a mobile livestream through YouTube’s mobile workflow. This is not the same as remotely controlling a separate cloud stream.
- Phone as event manager: Open YouTube Studio or Live Control Room to create or schedule the event, change supported settings, and monitor it. The cloud provider or encoder still sends the video.
- Phone as provider remote: Use the provider’s own app or dashboard if it offers controls for its stream. Because “cloud-hosted” does not identify a particular provider, its instructions and mobile controls must be checked with that provider.
Check YouTube eligibility before setup
For YouTube’s direct mobile livestream workflow, the channel needs at least 50 subscribers, verification, live streaming enabled, and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube lists Android 8.0+ or iOS 8+ for supported phones, and says the first mobile stream can take up to 24 hours to become available after enabling live streaming. See YouTube’s current mobile live-stream requirements.
YouTube’s general live-stream guidance also requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. The 50-subscriber threshold and phone operating-system requirements above apply to the direct mobile method; do not assume those are the requirements for an encoder/cloud workflow. The India mention on YouTube’s mobile help page concerns Playables availability, not a separate set of general livestream eligibility rules.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Set up and manage an encoder or cloud stream
- Confirm who sends the video. In a cloud setup, identify the provider dashboard or encoder that will transmit the feed. The phone may manage the YouTube event without capturing video itself.
- Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule the livestream. Set its title, description, visibility, audience and other event details. YouTube’s live stream settings guide covers settings for encoder and mobile streams; it does not cover webcam streams.
- Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the sender. YouTube’s encoder workflow requires both. Enter them in the provider or encoder’s stream settings, following that product’s own instructions. YouTube describes the setup in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Protect the key. YouTube says, “Stream keys are like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not show a live key in screenshots or send it in public messages. If you think it has been exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and replace the old key in the encoder or provider dashboard.
- Preview before going live. Start sending the feed from the encoder or cloud service, then check that its preview appears in Live Control Room. When ready, select Go live. To finish, use End stream in YouTube and stop the sender according to its own controls.
- Use RTMPS when the sender supports it. YouTube describes RTMPS as RTMP over TLS/SSL. Get the RTMPS server URL from Live Control Room and use it with the stream key if your encoder or provider supports the protocol. Details: Encrypt your stream using RTMPS.
What you can monitor on a phone
YouTube’s Android help lists mobile metrics including stream status and error guidance, concurrent viewers, duration, live chat messages and likes. The Android metrics guide explains those views. YouTube’s computer documentation also describes stream health and analytics such as chat rate, views and average view duration; the computer metrics guide is not a promise that every desktop metric appears identically in every phone app or browser.
For practical monitoring, check whether the event is live and whether YouTube reports an error, keep an eye on chat if you are responsible for it, and use the provider’s dashboard for sender-side status or controls. The YouTube phone view and a provider’s remote controls are separate interfaces.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Phone as the camera instead
If you want the phone itself to capture and send the livestream, use YouTube’s mobile live-stream process rather than treating the phone as a remote manager for an encoder. Meet the mobile eligibility requirements above first. YouTube’s encoder guidance names Larix Broadcaster for iOS and Android as an app for capturing and streaming using protocols including RTMP, but that does not establish compatibility with every cloud workflow; check the app and provider’s current documentation. A tripod is relevant only if the phone is physically capturing the video, not when it is just managing a cloud stream.

Troubleshooting
- You cannot start a direct mobile stream: Check subscriber count, verification, live-stream enablement, recent restrictions and supported phone OS. After enabling, YouTube says the first mobile stream may take up to 24 hours to become available.
- The cloud feed does not appear in Live Control Room: Confirm that the sender is running and that its YouTube server URL and stream key match the event. Check the provider’s status and connection guidance; YouTube cannot specify provider-specific dashboard steps without knowing the service.
- The key may have been exposed or no longer works: Reset it in Live Control Room, then update the key in the sender. A reset key must be replaced wherever the encoder or provider stores it.
- You can see the event but not a particular desktop metric: YouTube documents different Android and computer metrics views. Check the corresponding phone or computer guide rather than assuming all metrics are available on mobile.
- You want to restart or recover the stream from your phone: YouTube event controls and the cloud provider’s sender controls are distinct. Use the provider’s documented mobile dashboard or app for provider-side restart actions; do not assume Live Control Room can control every cloud sender.
