Livepush documents a scheduled playlist channel for running prerecorded videos continuously; OBS is an encoder that sends a live feed to YouTube. If you need an unattended prerecorded loop, Livepush’s schedule workflow is the more directly relevant of the two. If you are producing a live feed from a computer, OBS can encode it, but the cited YouTube guidance does not describe OBS as a hosted, unattended playlist scheduler.
For a cloud-hosted YouTube-only option, StreamNeo runs uploaded videos continuously without a computer staying on. It accepts uploaded recordings or playlists, not a live camera feed.

How Livepush and OBS differ for a 24/7 YouTube channel
| Question | Livepush | OBS |
|---|---|---|
| What role does it serve? | A streaming and distribution service. It documents a schedule channel for queued prerecorded videos, as well as multistreaming from an encoder feed. | Streaming software used as an encoder to produce and send a live feed to a destination such as YouTube. |
| Can it run a prerecorded playlist unattended? | Livepush says its schedule channel queues videos and runs continuously without the operator being present. | The cited YouTube and OBS workflow describes encoder connection, not an equivalent unattended cloud playlist schedule. |
| Where can viewers watch? | Livepush documents distribution to social platforms and, on its hosting plans, branded playback on the operator’s site. Platform allowances vary by plan. | YouTube’s encoder workflow sends the feed to YouTube. The cited material does not establish OBS as a multistream distribution service. |
| What setup is documented? | For prerecorded scheduling, configure the schedule channel. For an OBS-produced feed distributed through Livepush, enter Livepush’s ingest URL and stream key in OBS, then configure destinations in Livepush. | Enter YouTube Live’s server URL and stream key in the encoder. |
Livepush’s own documentation describes its schedule-channel and distribution features; YouTube Help describes encoder connections and production uses. These are vendor-documented workflows, not independent tests of reliability or performance. See Livepush’s introduction, its multistreaming overview, and YouTube’s encoder guide.

Which one should you choose?
Choose Livepush’s schedule channel for an unattended prerecorded loop
Livepush’s 24/7 workflow is built around queued videos and a schedule channel that can continue without the operator present. Livepush says its Creators plan is the least expensive plan that supports this schedule channel. This is the relevant distinction if your goal is to keep prerecorded content running, rather than to encode a live camera, gameplay, or screen feed.

Choose OBS when you need to produce a live feed from a computer
YouTube identifies encoder software as one of its streaming methods. Its guide says an encoder can be used for screen or gameplay capture, external audio/video hardware, and more involved productions involving multiple cameras or microphones. OBS fits this encoder role; the YouTube setup uses a server URL and stream key. That is not, by itself, documentation of a hosted playlist scheduler.
Choose an encoder plus Livepush when you want distribution to multiple destinations
Livepush documents a workflow in which OBS sends an RTMP/SRT feed to Livepush, and Livepush distributes it to configured destinations. Livepush says one feed can be fanned out to multiple platforms; the number of platforms and destinations depends on the plan. This distribution use case is separate from the prerecorded schedule-channel use case.

|---|---|
| Forever Free | 20 streaming hours per month, according to Livepush’s plan page. It is not the documented 24/7 schedule-channel plan. |
| Pro | $15/month or $13/month with annual billing. Livepush lists no monthly-hours cap and up to three simultaneous streams, but says the 24/7 schedule channel is added with Creators. |
| Creators | $39/month or $32.50/month with annual billing. Livepush identifies this as its lowest-priced plan with the 24/7 schedule channel. Its listed features include video looping, up to 4K output, five simultaneous streams, 40 platforms, five destinations per platform, and 20 GB video storage. |
| Hosted playback on your own site | Livepush says hosting plans include a branded player and delivery via Akamai CDN. Its guidance identifies Studio as the entry plan for 24/7 hosted playback; Events does not include the 24/7 schedule channel. |

Do not treat “no monthly-hours cap” on Pro as equivalent to an automated 24/7 playlist: Livepush places schedule-channel access on Creators. Likewise, if the goal is to show a stream on your own website rather than only distribute to social platforms, check the hosting-plan distinction before choosing.
Set up an OBS stream to YouTube
- Prepare YouTube Live access. In YouTube Studio, start the live-stream workflow and choose the encoder option. Follow YouTube’s current account and channel prompts; the cited guide does not specify one universal eligibility path for every account.
- Get the connection details from YouTube Live. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to that stream.
- Enter the details in OBS. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select the service or custom server option appropriate to the workflow, and enter the server URL and stream key supplied by YouTube. Do not reuse a key publicly or paste it into an untrusted service.
- Build and check the live scene. Add the capture sources you need—such as a screen, game, camera, or audio input—and check that video and audio are reaching OBS. YouTube’s cited guide supports encoder workflows for screen/game capture and external or multi-camera audio/video production.
- Start the encoder and confirm the YouTube live control room. Start streaming from OBS, then check YouTube’s live controls for an incoming feed and any warnings before treating the broadcast as live to viewers. Exact labels can change, so use the current YouTube Studio interface.
If you want Livepush to distribute an OBS-produced live feed, use Livepush’s documented workflow instead: put Livepush’s ingest URL and stream key into OBS, then set up destinations in Livepush. That is distinct from entering YouTube’s server URL and key directly in OBS.

Can OBS run a 24/7 YouTube stream?
OBS can send an encoder feed, but the cited documentation does not establish it as an unattended cloud service that queues and loops prerecorded videos. A do-it-yourself OBS arrangement depends on the computer and network maintaining the feed, and on the production being configured to continue. If either stops, the encoder feed can stop. That may suit a stream you actively produce, but it is a different operating model from a documented hosted schedule channel.
If you use a 24/7 broadcast, plan separately for the recording you want viewers to watch later. YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not guarantee that a continuous stream of 12 hours or longer will become one automatically archived video. Check YouTube’s current live controls and decide how you will preserve or publish recordings rather than assuming a full-day broadcast produces a single VOD.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is another option when the job is a prerecorded YouTube channel rather than a live camera production. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud. The setup is upload, add the stream key, go live.
- Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.
- Every slot streams what you uploaded, up to 4K at 60 fps, at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required; one free day is available per account.
Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. A slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery, and StreamNeo team support. StreamNeo streams to YouTube and plays uploaded videos; it does not go live from a camera. See StreamNeo for details, or start the free first day.
Quick Recap
Troubleshooting the common points of failure
- YouTube does not receive the OBS feed: check that the server URL and stream key in OBS match the current YouTube Live stream. If in doubt, copy them again from YouTube Studio and keep the key private.
- The broadcast stops when the computer or connection stops: an OBS encoder feed depends on the machine and network running. For an unattended prerecorded loop, use a documented scheduling or cloud-hosted workflow rather than assuming OBS alone provides it.
- Livepush does not show a 24/7 schedule option on the plan: Livepush identifies Creators as the least expensive plan with its schedule channel. Pro’s hours allowance is not the same feature.
- A 24-hour stream is not available as one automatic archive: YouTube’s cited automatic archive statement covers streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee for a longer continuous broadcast. Plan recording and replay separately.
- One destination works but another does not: for Livepush multistreaming, check the destinations allowed by the current plan and the configuration of each destination. Livepush says allowances vary by plan.
