Apollo is a practical shortlist candidate for teams seeking data and outbound workflows in one product; ZoomInfo and Cognism merit evaluation when their coverage and commercial terms fit. Keep Sales Navigator in consideration when LinkedIn-based discovery and relationship signals are central.
First check whether you need an alternative—or a different Sales Navigator tier
LinkedIn positions Core for individual sellers, Advanced for sales teams, and Advanced Plus for teams using supported CRMs that need deeper sales-tool and CRM integrations. Its listed features include 50+ advanced search filters, Account IQ and Lead IQ, buyer intent, lead and contact creation, relationship maps, job-change and new-content alerts, TeamLink, and Smart Links. Each of the three listed plans includes 50 InMails per month, according to LinkedIn’s plan page.

Which alternative fits your prospecting workflow?
| Option | Best reason to shortlist it | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn Sales Navigator | LinkedIn profile discovery, relationship context, and LinkedIn-native signals matter to the team. | Whether Core, Advanced, or Advanced Plus provides the needed CRM and team features at a workable cost. |
| Apollo | You want to combine B2B contact and company data with outbound sequences and integrations. | Credit use, plan and seat constraints, CRM needs, and data fit for your target region and persona. |
| ZoomInfo | You want to evaluate another B2B sales prospecting provider. | Current quote, regional coverage, sample accuracy, CRM fit, and procurement terms. |
| Cognism | You want to evaluate another provider and its fit for your target market. | Current quote, regional coverage, sample accuracy, CRM fit, and procurement terms. |
This is a workflow shortlist, not a performance ranking. Available evidence does not establish a universal winner or comparable, independently validated data-accuracy results for these vendors.
#1 Best Overall
Apollo: data and outbound in one workflow
Apollo describes its product around B2B contact and company data, prospecting, outbound sequences, and integrations. Its published tiers are Free, Basic, Professional, and Custom. The page associates Basic with regular outbound and sequencing, Professional with higher credit limits and additional features, and Custom with team-level volumes and enterprise controls. It lists integrations including Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, SalesLoft, Marketo, Sendgrid, and LinkedIn. These vendor descriptions indicate product fit, not independently proven data accuracy.
Apollo uses credits for activities that include accessing email addresses, phone numbers, and AI-researched data. Credits reset each cycle and unused credits do not roll over. The page also says all seats on an account share the same plan level and downgrades do not generate refunds for unused time. Review the current Apollo pricing and plan details against expected usage, seat needs, and contract terms.
ZoomInfo and Cognism: evaluate with a quote and a sample
ZoomInfo has an official B2B sales prospecting product page, and Cognism has an official pricing page. The available information does not establish directly comparable public prices or independent head-to-head performance. Ask each vendor for current terms and test a representative set of target accounts and contacts before treating either as a fit. See ZoomInfo’s sales prospecting product page and Cognism’s pricing page.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →How to choose a Sales Navigator alternative
- Define the source of prospecting context. Decide whether sellers need LinkedIn profiles and relationship signals, a separate contact and company database, or both. If LinkedIn relationships drive the workflow, compare an alternative against the capabilities you would lose—not just its contact count or price.
- Map the contact and outreach work. Specify whether reps need email addresses, phone numbers, sequencing, or a combination. For credit-based plans, identify which actions consume credits and estimate usage per seat and per month.
- Confirm CRM fit at the right tier. Check that required integrations are available in the plan you would actually buy. Establish whether integration, data transfer, or administration depends on a higher tier, custom configuration, or a sales-led package.
- Test coverage and accuracy in your market. Build a representative sample of target companies and personas in the regions your team serves. Check whether records are present, current, and usable for your workflow. No universal data-quality winner is established here.
- Compare total cost and commitment. Put per-seat fees, billing period, credit limits, add-ons, contract terms, onboarding, and renewal conditions side by side. Do not compare an advertised entry price with an enterprise quote as though they cover the same package.
- Review compliance and governance. Confirm data sourcing, lawful-use obligations, retention, security, and regional requirements with the vendor and your organization’s legal or compliance team.
When to choose each option
- Keep or buy Sales Navigator if LinkedIn-native discovery and relationship signals are indispensable, or if its team and CRM features address the actual gap.
- Shortlist Apollo if combining contact data with outbound sequencing is a priority and its credit model, plan structure, integrations, and regional data pass your evaluation.
- Request ZoomInfo or Cognism proposals if either appears aligned with your target geography and purchasing requirements; make a decision only after reviewing a current quote and representative data sample.
Other names—including Lusha, Clay, LeadIQ, Kaspr, UpLead, RocketReach, Evaboot, and PhantomBuster—may be worth investigating when a specific workflow calls for them. Their appearance in comparison coverage does not establish that each is a direct substitute for Sales Navigator or a ranked recommendation.
