It rated webOS “Great” for ease of use and Samsung Tizen “Good.” The difference is a reviewer’s judgment—not the result of a formal usability study—and the best fit still depends on how you navigate, search, and use your TV.
At a glance: webOS has the edge, but both are usable
Both platforms put streaming apps, inputs, and settings on the TV. In TechRadar’s comparison, webOS felt faster and more consistent to navigate, with a card-based home screen, Quick Menu, and Quick Cards. Tizen has improved, and its Quick Menu makes common destinations easier to reach, but its home-screen promotions and less comprehensive universal search were drawbacks in the review. How the everyday experience compares
| What you do | LG webOS | Samsung Tizen | What to consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Navigate the home screen | TechRadar described navigation as fast and consistent, with a card-based layout, Quick Menu, and Quick Cards. | The Quick Menu gives faster access to apps, inputs, and settings. | Both offer shortcuts; the cited review rated webOS higher overall for ease of use. |
| Find something to watch | Universal search was described as fine, but less expansive than some rival platforms. | Search was adequate, but may not return comprehensive results; you may need to search within individual apps. | Neither was presented as a standout for finding content across services. |
| Deal with promotions | Some models may show screensaver ads. | Promotions and sponsored content can appear on the home screen. | If advertising makes an interface feel cluttered to you, inspect the exact TV’s home screen. |
| Use the remote | The Magic Remote’s pointer can help with pointing and scrolling, but it is a matter of preference. | The comparison advises considering the actual Samsung remote and model when navigation feel matters. | Try the remote in person if possible; some people prefer pointer control, while others prefer directional buttons. |
Which platform fits the way you watch?
Choose webOS if you want straightforward navigation
webOS is the stronger starting point if you value a quick route through the TV’s menus and apps. Its Quick Menu and Quick Cards give you shortcuts, while the card-based layout was part of the reason TechRadar found it consistent to navigate. That does not mean every viewer will prefer it: the Magic Remote pointer may not suit people who want to move only with directional buttons.

- OBJECT TRACKING SOUND LITE: Feel like you're part of the scene with audio that follows the action on screen. Featuring a virtual top channel, every sound is precisely placed in space, placing you in the heart of the scene.

- ONE UI TIZEN: Stream your favorite movies and shows and access your favorite apps and games on an intuitive smart TV platform, powered by Samsung Tizen OS.

Choose Tizen if you prefer its remote or home-screen flow
Tizen is not difficult to use simply because it received the lower rating. Its Quick Menu helps you reach apps, inputs, and settings, and it has improved according to the comparison. But if you dislike home-screen promotions or expect search to surface results comprehensively across services, those parts of the experience may feel less convenient.
Check apps, accessibility, and startup behavior on the exact TV
Confirm your essential streaming apps
Do not assume every LG or Samsung TV has the same app selection. LG says app and content availability can vary by country, product, and region, and can change. The comparison describes strong support for major services on Tizen, but the exact set still depends on the model and market. Check your must-have services for the precise TV you plan to buy. LG’s webOS platform information and LG’s content and app information provide LG’s current details.

Look at accessibility controls you actually use
LG’s platform information describes quick access to accessibility settings. Samsung documents options including Voice Guide, high contrast, larger menu text, and captions, with availability varying by model. The presence of a setting in the TV menu does not establish that every streaming app supports it in the same way, so check the features you rely on both in the TV interface and in your usual apps. Samsung’s accessibility settings guide gives its model-dependent details.
Set LG to resume on the last input if that suits your setup
Supported LG TVs can start on the Home screen or the last-used input, which may be useful if you usually watch through a cable box or another connected device. The available setting and menu path depend on the TV’s year and webOS version; LG’s instructions, published August 25, 2026, cover different generations. See LG’s startup-screen instructions. The cited hands-on comparison did not make a corresponding startup-behavior assessment for Tizen.

What to try before choosing
- Open the home screen. Look at how readily you can locate your usual apps and whether promotions make the layout feel busy.
- Try the remote. Move through menus, open an app, and change an input. On LG, test whether you like the Magic Remote pointer as well as directional navigation.
- Search for a familiar title. Try the TV’s search and, if needed, the search inside a streaming app you use. This shows whether the results match your habits.
- Check the exact model in your market. Verify your required apps and accessibility options, since availability can differ by model and region.
If you are comparing a particular set, TechRadar’s 2025 platform review includes the LG C5 and Samsung S95F as examples. Their presence in the comparison is not a verdict that either TV is the best purchase: picture quality, price, size, and other features also matter.

The “Great” versus “Good” result is an editorial rating from TechRadar’s hands-on review, not a statistical study measuring how quickly a group of users completed tasks. It supports a practical recommendation—start with webOS if ease of navigation is your main priority—but cannot predict every viewer’s preference or every model’s current interface.
