Independent reviews describe very strong dark-room picture performance and near-instant response, but they also flag weak handling of reflections, some visible stutter, and less sustained brightness than LG’s G6. This article separates LG’s advertised features from what reviewers measured or observed, and it adds no new measurements of its own.

“C6H” is the label LG uses for the larger C6 models that carry the tandem OLED panel. On LG’s US site, two sizes are marketed under that name:

Picture quality
Contrast and color
RTINGS tested the 77-inch C6H and reported deep, uniform blacks and vibrant color, the kind of results expected from OLED in a dark room. Its test found strong HDR and excellent SDR peak brightness. AVForums reviewer Phil Hinton, whose review was published July 27, 2026, saw an uptick in color accuracy relative to smaller C6 sizes and gave the 77-inch model 9/10.
Brightness
RTINGS says the C6H is considerably brighter than the smaller C6, especially when a large share of the screen is bright at once, and that it displays a wider range of HDR colors. This gap reflects the C6H’s distinct panel configuration, not simply its screen size. Hinton reached a similar conclusion, describing brighter, more impactful HDR than smaller C6 models.
Reflections and bright rooms
This is the weak point in the reviews. RTINGS rated direct reflection handling as mediocre and reported distracting glare in some bright-room conditions. If the television will sit opposite a window or under bright ceiling lighting, treat this as the most important limitation.

Gaming and motion
LG’s 165Hz figure is a maximum, and the company ties it to a PC with a 165Hz-capable graphics card. RTINGS confirmed the 165Hz maximum for PC gaming. The same reviewers’ input-lag and response results are strong, but RTINGS also observed visible stutter linked to the fast response time. Motion that looks smooth on a slower panel can look uneven here, so judge this against your own content and frame rates. The reviews cited here do not establish how the set behaves with console or non-PC sources at 165Hz.
HDR and audio formats
RTINGS lists the following support for the C6H:
- Supported: Dolby Vision HDR.
- Not supported: Dolby Vision 2.
- Not supported: HDR10+.
- Not supported: DTS audio passthrough.
- Advertised by LG, not covered by RTINGS’ findings: Dolby Atmos support.
If your library relies on HDR10+ or DTS passthrough, the C6H will not fit that workflow.
C6H compared with smaller C6 models
Both RTINGS and AVForums place the C6H ahead of smaller C6 sizes on brightness and HDR impact. The difference is attributed to the larger model’s panel and processing setup, which is why the comparison is about the C6H versus the other C6 models, not just size. Smaller C6 televisions should be evaluated separately, using their own measurements.

C6H compared with G6
AVForums describes the C6H as sharing the G6’s tandem panel and Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3. The key difference Hinton identifies is cooling. The C6H has a slimmer chassis without the G6’s advanced heatsink and heat dispersion, which limits its sustained brightness relative to the G6. If you watch long, bright programs or want the strongest sustained output, the G6 is the stronger candidate on the evidence reviewed here.
LG’s March 2026 announcement lists different launch prices for the G6 and C6 families. Those figures are historical launch prices, so compare current prices on LG’s site or at retailers before deciding.
77-inch or 83-inch
RTINGS measured the 77-inch model and states that its results also apply to the 83-inch size. No separate measurement set was published for the 83-inch model, and no measured performance difference between the two sizes was established. Choose the size by room and budget:

- Measure the wall or stand space width and height before comparing models.
- Consider viewing distance. A larger screen rewards a seat farther back, while a 77-inch set suits a closer seating position.
- Compare the price gap against your budget, using current prices rather than launch figures.

- The mount’s weight limit against the television’s weight.
- Whether your wall construction, such as studs or masonry, supports the load.
A soundbar is optional. LG advertises Dolby Atmos support and promotes audio bundles, but no specific soundbar was tested for this article.
Verdict
The LG C6H is a strong choice for a dark room, for movies and gaming where high-contrast HDR and very fast response matter, and for buyers who accept the 77-inch or 83-inch size. It is a weaker choice if the room is bright, if glare is a concern, if you need sustained brightness (where the G6 is the better fit), or if you rely on HDR10+ or DTS passthrough. Between the two sizes, the reviews support choosing by room and viewing distance, not by any measured performance gap.
