LEGO Astro Bot 40899 is a compact, poseable display model that makes its strongest case through expressive eyes and flexible posing—not as a game or console accessory. LEGO lists 276 pieces, an 18+ age rating and dimensions of over 8 inches (20 cm) high on its stand. An independent review found the joints useful for display but prone to detaching during handling. Its gift-with-purchase availability depends on retailer and market, so check the current local offer before spending to qualify.
What LEGO Astro Bot 40899 includes
LEGO’s US product listing describes 40899 as an adults’ model with 276 pieces and a US listed price of $19.99. That is the product-page price, not a promise about current retailer pricing. The box includes the Astro Bot figure and a display stand; PlayStation’s UK listing also says it comes with a step-by-step guide.

How it works as a display model
The stand gives the figure a ready-made display position, but reviewer Jack Yates of Brick Fanatics says Astro Bot can also stand without it. With the movable head and arms and two eye styles, the model offers more expression and posing options than a fixed desk ornament. Its listed footprint is modest enough for a shelf or desk, although the finished figure is over 8 inches tall when displayed on its stand.

- ASTRO BOT BUILDING KIT – Adults ages 18 years and up can share their love of the iconic PlayStation character with this LEGO Astro Bot (40899) video game merch model BRICK-BUILT GAMING DECOR – Fans of the beloved rescue robot can enjoy a joyful creative activity as they capture the charm of the adventurous video game figure in LEGO bricks DIMENSIONS – This 276-piece model stands, with arms out, over 8 in. (20 cm) high, 4.5 in. (12 cm) wide and 2.5 in. (7 cm) deep, including the stand
These are a reviewer’s observations, not guarantees about every build or handling experience. Yates’s review, published October 4, 2026, reports that the arm and leg joints can detach while the figure is handled, though they are easy to reattach. That makes it more appealing as a piece to pose carefully than as a toy to move around repeatedly.
Build experience and finish
Brick Fanatics gives a 25-minute build time in its fact file. Treat that as the publisher’s reported estimate, not a universal build-time guarantee; pace will vary by builder.

Yates notes three stickers and one printed nameplate element. The stickers are a minor compromise for a collectible display build, especially if you prefer printed decoration, while the printed nameplate avoids making every detail a sticker. The review’s overall assessment is that the build captures Astro Bot effectively and offers worthwhile display flexibility, with detachable joints and sticker use as the main drawbacks.
