Neither Lattice nor Betterworks is a universal winner. Both cover performance-management basics such as goals, feedback, and manager conversations; the better fit depends on the workflows you need, the modules in your quote, your HR systems, implementation requirements, and total contract cost. Betterworks’ published plans emphasize continuous performance and talent-intelligence options, while Lattice offers modular performance, goals, engagement, and manager tools. Those are vendor positioning claims—not proof that one works better in practice.
What Lattice and Betterworks have in common
Both are organizational performance-management platforms. Their overlap includes goals or OKRs, feedback, and manager conversations. A feature appearing on a vendor’s page does not establish how well it fits your review process, so compare the specific workflows and package scope you would actually buy.

How their performance and talent workflows differ
Betterworks
Betterworks’ Performance plan lists Goals & OKRs, feedback, conversations, and 1:1 meetings. Its Performance + Talent Intelligence offering lists additional capabilities including anytime calibration, succession and talent mobility, skills intelligence, talent profiles, and development plans. Confirm which capabilities are included in the proposed package and how they can be configured for your review cycle.

Lattice
Lattice sells performance and Goals & OKRs as modules, and its product pages describe configurable goal cycles. Its Performance offering lists calibration, succession planning, promotions, performance improvement plans, and talent reviews. Manager tools are included with specified products; ask the vendor to identify exactly which ones are included in your quote.

These lists do not establish that either platform is categorically more capable. Have each vendor demonstrate your actual review and calibration process, including who can see, edit, and approve each step.
Published pricing and what it leaves out
The following prices are vendor-published page prices checked on October 7, 2026. They are not negotiated quotes or independently validated bills; package scope and pricing may change.
Rank #2
| Vendor and option | Published price | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Betterworks Performance | $8 per user per month | Vendor-published price; confirm included scope in the quote. |
| Betterworks Performance + Talent Intelligence | $9 per user per month | Vendor-published price; confirm included scope in the quote. |
| Betterworks Enterprise | Custom | Betterworks says price depends on workforce size, selected products, implementation requirements, integrations, support, organizational needs, and deployment requirements. Implementation is a one-time cost in addition to per-user monthly pricing. |
| Lattice Performance | $10 per seat per month | Vendor-published price; contracts are billed annually. |
| Lattice Goals & OKRs | $8 per seat per month | Vendor-published price; contracts are billed annually. |
| Lattice Foundations | $13 per seat per month | Vendor-published price; contracts are billed annually. |
| Lattice Enterprise | Custom | Lattice states a $4,000 minimum annual agreement; contracts are billed annually. |
Do not treat the headline rates as a like-for-like price comparison. Betterworks quotes per user, while Lattice lists per-seat prices and states a minimum annual agreement; the options do not necessarily include the same capabilities. Ask both vendors for a written quote using the same seat count, modules, contract term, implementation scope, support level, and add-ons.

Both vendors describe integrations. Betterworks also describes professional services, and its pricing page treats implementation as a separate one-time cost. Lattice says its performance-management implementation and change-management services have no additional cost on its pricing page. Confirm what the actual agreement includes rather than assuming the page description applies to every deployment.

- List the HR information system and other tools that must exchange data with the platform; verify each specific integration and the data that flows through it.
- Ask who configures review cycles, goals, permissions, and reporting, and what work your HR and IT teams must do.
- Get implementation milestones, support coverage, and any related fees in writing.
- Use the same workforce size and deployment assumptions when comparing proposals.
Which platform may fit your organization?
These are fit hypotheses based on vendor descriptions, not comparative test results. No hands-on testing was performed.
Consider Betterworks if…
- Your priority is a continuous performance workflow connecting goals, feedback, conversations, and 1:1s.
- You want to evaluate the listed talent-intelligence and calibration capabilities in the same proposed package.
- You are prepared to assess a custom Enterprise quote, including implementation and deployment needs.
Consider Lattice if…
- You want to consider performance and goals as separate modules, alongside the vendor’s engagement and manager-tool offerings.
- You want to compare its published modular prices as a starting point, while accounting for the stated annual minimum and contract billing.
- You want to verify the implementation and change-management services described on its pricing page against your proposed agreement.
Betterworks’ 2026 Enterprise Buyer’s Guide frames selection around flexibility versus governance and enablement versus standardization. That can be a useful set of questions, but it is a vendor-authored framework, not independent evidence that either product is better. Test those trade-offs against your own process.

What to ask for in a demo
Give both vendors the same scenarios and ask them to demonstrate the workflow in the package they are quoting:
- Run a review cycle from launch through manager review and completion.
- Update an organizational goal and show how the change appears to the people who need it.
- Exchange feedback and conduct a manager conversation or 1:1.
- Complete a calibration or talent-review scenario, showing role-based permissions and any relevant succession or development steps.
- Show an integration and explain the data flow, ownership, and failure handling.
- Produce a report your HR team uses, and explain who can access it.
- Provide a written total-cost quote listing seats, modules, term, implementation, support, and add-ons.
Choose the platform that handles your real scenarios with the least process compromise and a contract your organization can evaluate—not the one with the longer feature list or lower starting price.
