Kanu AI announced $11.7 million in funding on September 30, 2026, saying it will use its approach to turn employees’ repeatable work into custom operational software. Trilogy Equity Partners led the round, with a16z speedrun, BMW i Ventures and Accel also participating. The announcement did not identify a funding stage.
What Kanu AI does
Kanu’s premise is that organizations can build software around the work employees actually perform, rather than forcing that work into generic tools. Staff demonstrate repeatable processes and connect the systems they use; Kanu says it turns that operational knowledge into software deployed in the customer’s cloud.

The company describes agents that read documents, apply an organization’s processes and produce finished work. It also describes role-specific app interfaces that can change as operations evolve. In Kanu founder and CEO Karan Grover’s words, “Companies have spent decades buying software built around someone else’s idea of how they should work.”

How Kanu says enterprise control works
Kanu says deployments run in a customer’s AWS or Google Cloud environment. According to the company, customers control infrastructure, permissions, model accounts and cloud spending, as well as model choice, workflow logic and outputs. Kanu also says users can inspect outputs from source through decision and add human review or approval checkpoints for consequential work.

What the funding announcement says about Kanu
The September 30, 2026 announcement lists $11.7 million in funding, led by Trilogy Equity Partners, with a16z speedrun, BMW i Ventures and Accel participating. It does not state whether the round is a seed, Series A or another stage. Kanu says it serves enterprises in commercial real estate, insurance, financial services and technology.

Kanu’s About page gives dated milestones: it lists the company’s founding in January 2026, shipment of version 1 in June 2026 and first enterprise workflows going live in August 2026. It also lists a seven-person team. The funding announcement’s description of the company as founded “just over a year ago” does not align with those dated milestones, so the timeline is best understood through the dates on the About page.
The customer result—and what it does not prove
Kanu reports that one unnamed national customer reduced an analysis process involving PDFs, email, spreadsheets, CRM data and GIS systems from as long as eight weeks to under 10 minutes. Kanu also says that customer is on track to cut software costs by more than $1 million in 2026 and generate millions in additional revenue by year-end. Those savings and revenue figures are company projections, not completed results.
Rank #3
The announcement does not name the customer or provide independent measurement of the reported time reduction, cost target or revenue projection. The example is therefore a company-reported case, not audited evidence that other deployments will produce similar outcomes.
What Kanu has disclosed about growth and availability
Kanu says its revenue has more than doubled in each quarter since launch. This is a company-reported growth claim; the announcement does not provide revenue figures or outside verification. The company says its software is available through AWS Marketplace and Google Cloud Marketplace.

What enterprise buyers should evaluate
Kanu’s materials describe an approach, but they do not establish that it outperforms other enterprise workflow products. A buyer evaluating it should test a representative workflow against agreed criteria, rather than relying on a headline time-saving claim.

- Cloud and data control: Confirm where the deployment runs, which party manages permissions and model accounts, and how data is handled.
- Integration and model choices: Check whether the systems and models required for the workflow are supported and who controls those choices.
- Auditability and review: Determine what users can inspect and where human approval is required before consequential work is completed.
- Time and output quality: Measure launch time and assess outputs against the current process, including exceptions and error handling.
- Total cost: Account for software, cloud and model costs, not just potential savings against existing software.
