If you want to dance at home without a conventional Just Dance console setup, Just Dance Now is the closest match: it uses a smartphone as the controller and a screen to show the coaches. If you want a more exercise-oriented experience, consider Zumba: Fitness Party on Nex Playground, a motion-sensing system that does not require handheld controllers. They are different kinds of experiences, not interchangeable versions of the same game.
Just Dance Now: keep the song-and-coach format without a console
Ubisoft describes Just Dance Now as a way to play without a video game console. Its FAQ says to choose a song, hold a smartphone as the controller, and follow the coach on a screen. That makes it the most direct option if what you want is the familiar Just Dance format without buying a console.

Ubisoft’s official pages give different catalog figures: the FAQ says “over 450+ tracks,” while a Ubisoft Help answer says “over 500 tracks.” Because the figures conflict, neither should be treated as a settled current count. Check the live service for the catalog and how access works before deciding.
Zumba: Fitness Party on Nex Playground: a workout-led alternative
Zumba’s partnership announcement presents Zumba: Fitness Party for Nex Playground as an at-home, motion-sensing dance-fitness experience with no controllers required. The announcement described launch content as 66 songs across 10 workouts in 2025. It also said new content would be added monthly through 2025, but does not establish whether additions continued after that year.

This option is better understood as workout-led dance fitness than as a direct replacement for Just Dance’s song-game catalog or scoring format. It requires Nex Playground hardware; the cited announcement does not establish current availability, price, bundle contents, or regional support. Check what is included and offered where you live before buying the system.
Which option fits the way you want to play?
| Option | Setup | Play style | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Just Dance Now | Smartphone controller and a screen; no console, according to Ubisoft. | Choose a song and follow an on-screen coach. | Current song catalog and access details in the live service. Ubisoft’s official pages give conflicting track counts. |
| Zumba: Fitness Party on Nex Playground | Nex Playground motion-sensing hardware; Zumba says no controllers are required. | Workout-oriented dance-fitness sessions. | Current availability, regional support, and what the hardware or game purchase includes. |
If you mean an alternative to buying the newest Just Dance
You may not need a different franchise if your concern is the latest game’s features. Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2026 announcement describes a solo Workout Mode and compatibility for choreographies from the 2025 and 2026 editions, with additional compatible songs through Just Dance+. Ubisoft’s current Just Dance page also describes solo play, hosting friends, online competition, and multiple skill levels. These are comparison points for the current franchise, rather than evidence that either alternative offers the same modes.

What the available information does not establish
The official descriptions support comparing setup and play style, but not declaring one option more accurate, better value, more intense as exercise, or more accessible than the other. Those outcomes are not established by the cited materials, so choose based on the play format and hardware you want, then verify current content and availability directly.
