Open the iPhone’s Camera, point it at the Wi-Fi QR code, then tap the prompt that appears. If the scan does not finish connecting, open Settings > Wi-Fi, choose the network, and enter its password or complete any sign-in prompt.
Join a Wi-Fi network with Camera

Open Camera and select Photo mode. Point the iPhone at the QR code so it fits inside the camera frame.

Wait for the on-screen action or link, then tap it. Apple describes QR scan results as a link at the bottom of the screen; with a Wi-Fi code, follow the Wi-Fi action and any confirmation iOS presents. A scan may not connect automatically, and some networks still require a password or sign-in.

To check the result, open Settings > Wi-Fi. A blue checkmark next to a network name indicates that the iPhone is connected. If it is not connected, select the network there and enter its password or follow the displayed instructions. See Apple’s Wi-Fi connection guide.

Camera’s QR scanning is built into iPhone; you do not need a separate scanner app for this method. Apple’s QR-code scanning guide also documents scanning with Control Center.
Use Control Center’s Scan Code instead
Open Control Center, tap Scan Code, then frame the Wi-Fi QR code. This is a dedicated scanner; Camera is the direct route when you already have that app open. If Scan Code is not in Control Center, add the control there first. In dim light, Apple notes that the flashlight can help illuminate the code.

Know when a public Wi-Fi login is still required
At a hotel, airport, café, or similar venue, scanning the code or selecting the network may only connect the iPhone to the network’s initial Wi-Fi access point. A captive network can then show a login page. You may need to enter a username and password or email address, or accept terms, before internet access is available. Follow the prompt shown after joining; Apple explains this process in its guide to captive Wi-Fi networks.

When you are sharing Wi-Fi rather than joining it
If you are already connected and want someone else to join, Apple documents a separate sharing option: open the Wi-Fi network details and tap Show Network QR Code so the other person can scan it. For nearby Apple devices, password sharing is another option. The sharing iPhone must be unlocked and connected to the network; the other person must be signed in to their Apple Account, be in the owner’s contacts, and be nearby.
