The title-level figures—1,539 Jenkins matches and 212 GitLab matches—are reported search matches, not a verified count of publicly reachable controllers. They do not establish that any system is vulnerable or compromised, and they are not enough to conclude that Jenkins is more exposed than GitLab. For an operator, the useful next step is to verify suspected exposure against an authorized asset inventory and check the system’s access boundaries directly.
What do the 1,539 Jenkins and 212 GitLab figures represent?
A DEV Community listing dated September 23, 2026, gives those numbers in its title and associates the article with ZoomEye, GitLab, source control, and exposure measurement. The figures should therefore be read as matches reported in that title—not as an independently verified census of CI/CD systems.

The accessible listing does not establish when the underlying scan ran, which queries or fingerprints were used, what geographic or network scope was covered, or how duplicate results and false positives were handled. Without those details, the counts cannot show how many distinct systems were present or whether they were reachable when a reader encounters the listing. The DEV Community listing is the source for the title-level figures.

What does an internet search match actually prove?
A match indicates that a search service associated a result with a product or fingerprint. By itself, it does not prove current reachability, vulnerability, compromise, or ownership by a particular organization. A result may also be stale or incorrectly identified; the available listing does not quantify either possibility.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Reachability: A listing alone does not show that the service responds from the public internet now.
- Security state: Product identification does not reveal whether authentication or other access controls are configured correctly.
- Ownership: A match does not establish that an asset belongs to your organization.
- Risk prevalence: No deployment denominator is provided, so the figures cannot establish the share of Jenkins or GitLab installations exposed.
Can the counts show Jenkins is more exposed than GitLab?
No. The larger Jenkins figure is not a sound basis for ranking exposure or risk. A fair comparison would need aligned collection dates, comparable queries or fingerprints, consistent deduplication, the same geographic and network scope, and a denominator. The listing provides none of these details.
Even if the counts came from comparable searches, raw matches would not by themselves measure security risk: they do not show which results are reachable, how they are protected, or whether they are distinct assets. The available evidence does not document product-specific identification or deployment differences that would explain the gap.

How should an operator verify suspected exposure?
Check only systems you own or are explicitly authorized to assess. Treat a search result as a lead for inventory review, not as permission to probe an asset.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Reconcile with your authorized inventory. Identify whether the suspected hostname or address is assigned to your organization and whether it is meant to be internet-facing.
- Verify directly within your authorization. Check the relevant endpoint from an approved vantage point and confirm that it is the expected CI/CD service, rather than relying solely on a search fingerprint.
- Review access boundaries. Confirm that authentication is required where appropriate and that administrative interfaces and other sensitive functions are not unintentionally open to the public.
- Review the deployment’s controls. For Jenkins, the Jenkins security guidance index groups hardening topics including authentication, plugin management, and agent isolation. Use the guidance relevant to your version and configuration: Jenkins security.
- Document and remediate confirmed exposure. Record the asset owner, intended exposure, verification date, and changes made; then repeat the authorized check to confirm the resulting access boundary.
What information is needed for a meaningful exposure comparison?
- A shared collection window, so the two sets of results describe the same period.
- Comparable and documented search queries or product fingerprints.
- Rules for deduplicating results and handling false positives.
- A stated geographic and network scope.
- A denominator or other defined baseline if the goal is to compare exposure rates rather than raw match counts.
- Direct validation of reachability and ownership if the goal is to count confirmed organizational assets.
Until those details are available, the title figures are best treated as a prompt to examine internet-facing CI/CD assets—not as a measure of confirmed exposure.
