A Jawbone UP2 takes about an hour to reach a full charge, according to Jawbone’s published instructions. The UP2 manual describes it as just over an hour, so treat that as an estimate rather than a guaranteed time for every band.
How long does the Jawbone UP2 take to charge?
Jawbone Support’s setup instructions, dated June 29, 2015, say the band takes approximately one hour to fully charge. The UP2 manual uses the wording “just over one hour.” Taken together, the published guidance is about an hour; neither source reports a timing test of an individual band.

How to charge the UP2
- Hold the band with its loop at the bottom.
- Connect the charging cable from the right side, aligning its pins with the band’s contacts. Magnets hold the cable in place.
- Plug the cable into a computer USB port or a standard USB wall adapter.
- Check the band icons: they pulse while charging. When charging is complete, the icons stop pulsing and the runner icon glows.
The instructions permit either a computer USB port or a standard wall adapter, but do not say that one charges the band faster than the other.

The UP2 manual says a full charge lasts up to seven days, varying by use. That is the manual’s stated maximum, not a promise for every band. The manual does not specify how battery age affects runtime.

What if the charging time differs?
The published estimate does not establish the charging time for a particular UP2, especially a used device. The available instructions give no adjustment for battery condition or age. Confirm that the cable’s pins are aligned with the band contacts and use the charging indicators to tell whether charging is underway or complete.
