For a Windows 10 64-bit PC, start at Apple’s current Windows download page and choose iTunes in the Microsoft Store. Apple’s current guidance points Windows users to the Store; its separately listed iTunes 12.10.11 64-bit installer is an older page dated March 8, 2024, not a claim about the newest release.
How to download iTunes for Windows 10 64-bit
- Confirm Windows is 64-bit. If you are unsure, check your Windows system information before choosing an installer. Apple’s archived 64-bit installer page says 64-bit editions of Windows require the 64-bit installer.
- Open Apple’s Windows download guidance. Select iTunes for Microsoft Store and follow the Store prompts to install it.
- Use the Microsoft Store for updates. Store-installed Apple apps are kept up to date automatically, and you can also check for updates there.
Apple notes that availability and features can vary by country or region. Avoid third-party download sites; Apple’s supported directions point to the Microsoft Store or Apple’s own download information.

What the older standalone 64-bit installer tells you
Apple’s page for iTunes 12.10.11 for Windows (64 bit) is dated March 8, 2024. It lists Windows 7 or later, requires 400 MB of available disk space, and gives the installer file size as 201 MB. Those details describe that dated listing; they do not establish that 12.10.11 is the current version. Apple’s present Windows download guidance sends users to Microsoft Store.
How updates work after installation
For an installation from Microsoft Store, updates are delivered through the Store; Apple says Store apps update automatically and provides a manual update check there. If iTunes was installed from Apple’s download page, its user guide says updates can be checked manually or automatically in iTunes. Apple Software Update may also apply to certain older Apple software installations or Windows running on a Mac through Boot Camp. See Apple’s Windows software update guidance and the iTunes update guide.

If iTunes will not install or update
- Sign in to Windows with an administrator account.
- Install available Windows updates, then try the latest supported iTunes available through Microsoft Store.
- Restart the PC and retry the installation or update.
- If there is reason to suspect a conflict, check whether background or security software is interfering. Do not disable security protection as a routine first step.
- If the problem is with downloading or updating through Microsoft Store, Apple directs users to Microsoft support.
