No—Xbox Player Voice is a newly launched feedback channel, not an abandoned one. Microsoft introduced it on May 18, 2026, replacing the Xbox Cloud Gaming feedback portal. Xbox says players can submit feedback, see when it has been received and reviewed, and follow progress when meaningful updates are available. The bigger caveat is that Microsoft uses feedback as an input to product decisions; it does not promise that any particular suggestion will become a feature.
Why Xbox Player Voice can look inactive
Players looking for the old Xbox feedback destination may find it appears quiet or unavailable because Xbox has moved to a new channel. Team Xbox announced Player Voice on May 18, 2026, describing it as a place to share input and see how it is handled. It replaces the Xbox Cloud Gaming feedback portal and is intended to work alongside Xbox Insider Hub, support forums and social channels. Xbox’s Player Voice announcement said the experience was starting small and would evolve.

Player Voice is therefore the current broad route for feedback about the Xbox experience. It is not a guarantee of a reply, a published decision or a shipped change. Xbox says players can see receipt and review status, and can follow progress when updates are available; Team Xbox put it this way: “When there are meaningful updates, we’ll share them.”

Choose the channel based on what you need. Xbox distinguishes product feedback from preview testing, troubleshooting and general conversation.

| Channel | Best for | Who it is for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Player Voice | Feedback and suggestions about the Xbox experience | Xbox players broadly | Xbox says submissions are received and reviewed; progress may be visible when meaningful updates are available. It is not a promise of a change. |
| Xbox Insider Hub | Testing preview experiences and reporting bugs or problems encountered in them | Xbox Insiders | A testing and issue-reporting route that complements Player Voice; it is not the general support channel. |
| Xbox Insider community on Reddit and support forums | Help and troubleshooting | Players seeking support; Xbox specifically points Insiders to its Reddit community | Use relevant existing threads where possible. Official staff, moderators and community members participate. |
| Xbox social channels | Ongoing conversation | Xbox players | Conversation, rather than the formal channel for submitting feedback or tracking its status. |
These channel distinctions come from the May 2026 Player Voice announcement and Xbox’s August 2026 Insider update. If the problem is a bug in a preview build, use the Insider route; if you need help fixing an account, device or service problem, use support rather than treating a feature suggestion as a support ticket.
Does Microsoft actually read Xbox feedback?
Xbox says it reviews and organizes Player Voice submissions and considers them alongside other work. The company also continues to describe feedback as an input to product development. In March 2026, Xbox Senior Product Manager Alex Charters wrote, “At Xbox, your feedback helps shape how we build and improve the player experience,” while introducing features for selected Insiders to test. The March update said those features would roll out to additional Insiders and players over time.

Later updates show the preview cycle continued: a June 2026 Insider post described changes as “shaped by your feedback,” and an August update continued to describe Insider features and rollout stages while pointing players to Player Voice. These statements support the conclusion that Xbox uses feedback in its development process. They do not establish that a particular player’s submission caused a specific shipped feature.
Feedback is considered, not guaranteed
Team Xbox explicitly cautions: “This doesn’t mean every piece of feedback will turn into a feature or result in a change.” Submissions may be considered alongside other work; an idea might advance, take longer, or prove unactionable. Xbox has not published a submission count, review-time target or rate showing how often feedback becomes a shipped change, so there is no supported basis for promising that a suggestion will be implemented or estimating its odds.

What happened to the old Xbox Feedback site?
The old vote-oriented description is historical, not a reliable guide to Player Voice today. In a March 2018 Xbox Wire post, Xbox described grouping feature suggestions, ranking them by votes and compiling them for feature-team review. That article also directed feedback about existing features, games and preview experiences to Xbox Insider Hub. The 2018 account explains how the earlier system worked; it does not establish that Player Voice uses the same voting process.
An earlier January 2018 Xbox Insider guide also described using Windows Feedback Hub and categorizing a report under “Gaming and Xbox.” That is historical guidance. For current high-level routing, Xbox’s 2026 guidance separates broad product feedback, Insider testing and bugs, support, and social discussion.

How to make an Xbox suggestion more useful
When submitting an idea through Player Voice, explain the problem or goal behind it, not only the specific change you would like to see. The old Xbox feedback guidance made the same practical point about explaining the user’s goal, but the current Player Voice announcement does not specify a required format or promise a particular review path. Keep a bug report distinct from a feature suggestion, and use Xbox Insider Hub when the issue arises while testing an Insider preview.
